We finally got the dvd from the photographer for the reception on Monday! So excited!
For those who don't know, we got married one week prior to our reception in Key West! This was our hometown reception! Loved it!
We had a very small wedding and also an intimate reception with less than 40 people. It was amazing! Our reception btw, was held at Sugo in John's Creek, and our guests adored the fabulous menu and the homemade sangria!
For those considering an intimate wedding, I say go for it! We had all the elements of larger weddings, less of the stress, and of course, more economical! But the real reason we wanted an intimate wedding, was because we wanted to have an evening where we could spend our time actually spending quality time with our guests.
I had so many people tell me that our food at our reception was the best they'd had at a wedding reception. Imho, being able to have a smaller wedding allows the "inner foodie" within to be released! I loved being able to splurge on our guests.
Tonight I'll have more up!
So beautiful!! I love your flowers and decor, everything looks so classy! Is that your son with the braces? He's so cute! :)
Thanks so much Moderndaisy! The cutie in the braces is my nephew. My son is dancing with him.
Here's more!
Beautiful pictures! I have a friend who LOVES Sugo too! :)
These are lovely. You did such a phenomenal job of making the beach theme elegant, not kitschy. I totally heart your cake!
TarHeel: Thanks! We love that place and love the owners too! Like family almost. Amazing food.
Georgia Bee: That was so sweet! Our cake did turn out great! Originally we were to have our wedding in Pensacola, but it was right at the end of the oil spill fiasco, so we had to change things with less than two months to go.
On our favor table, there are seashell wands with real shells wired on top, and the other favors were handmade artisan chocolates in the shape of our seahorse logo and in white chocolate with edible irridescent and silver flecks in it! They were really tasty. The bakery made those too! In glassine bags w/our monogram design on them.
I'll have some more up tomorrow. It was a fun weekend! We had the best of both worlds! A weddingmoon in Key West and be able to fly home to Atlanta and receive our family and friends at the wedding reception!
Unorthodox maybe. Fun? Heck yea!
Thanks for posting! I love the bright colors of the flowers in the centerpieces.
