I went there a few years ago and LOVED it!! I highly recommend it
Congrats on your wedding!
Thanks for the tips!! We are doing a Sandals in Jamaica. We are leaving on a Monday after our Sat. Wedding. We already have 2 sunscreens ordered w/ bugspray, 1 bugspray & we will be bringing some extra spf.
Great heads up on putting the suits in your carry on though!!! Would have never thought of that!
Great tips! We only have a 40 minute layover in Atlanta to catch our flight to Jamaica. Now I know to pack a change of clothes, and our swimsuits since our actual luggage probably won't make it to Jamaica until after we do!
Good tips! We're probably going to go to St. Lucia for our official honeymoon but at The Tides Sugar Beach, which was previously the Jalousie Plantation!
T's been to St. Lucia before and raved about it! He swears he was the only single male on the island by himself and that all others were honeymooning (he went there to unwind after his divorce and just hike and hang out and go jeeping).
Can't wait to see your pics from your fabulous honeymoon! Btw, if you ever go back to a Sandals, go to the one also in Antigua..my sis and bil did and got a rondoval there. Loved it!
Wow! Thanks for the tips. We are going to the same resort on 1/2-1-8! I can't wait to go!
I'm so happy to hear you had a great time in St. Lucia. I think St. Lucia sounds ideal. Post pictures when you get a chance.
Thank you soooo much for posting! I think this is where my fiance and I are going to end up going. It's nice to hear someone had such a good experience recently. My best friend and matron of honor in my wedding went there on her honeymoon but it was in 2006 and you never know what happens to a place 4 years later.
Did you end up booking a room with concierge service? Was this a valuable part of your stay?
I can not wait to see pictures... We are going to the same Resort for our honeymoon in July....
was the excursion booked through Sandals?
We booked the Land and Sea tour or something like that & Fiance also booked the Candlelight private dinner..... shhhhhh im not suppose to know about that but I accidently saw the email when i was looking for our booking number lol.
Anything else that you guys did that you feel is a must...
Any restraunt reccomendations and any to not waste time on ?
Did you visit any other resorts or do any other activities?
I am definately planning to take bunches of sunscreen im a casper the ghost.
@ToBeMrs2011- Yes our room came with the 24hr Conceirge service. When we arrived on Day 1 they took 6 couples to the Conceirge Lounge and gave us our room keys, maps of the resort, etc. and then introduced themselves and said we could begin booking with them right then. We ended up going by a few more times during the week to book other things. At the meeting on Day 1 they let us in on knowing that reservations for La Toc were almost full. So most of us booked that then.
@FutureMrs.Harless- We did the Land and Sea (open jeep) excursion. This took us up the coast to the waterfall, volcano and mud baths and lunch on the way back. We enjoyed seeing other parts of the island. The mud bath is smaller then what I had in mind but it was fun to do. Our guides would stop along the road and get us fruit from the different trees to taste. The food from the Candlelight Dinner was very similiar to the food served at La Toc we guess it is the same chef. So in hindsight we wished we would have booked Kiminios instead just so that we could try a different variety of food. But the La Toc was nice to get all dressed up for. We didn't make it to the other resorts because we just didn't have the time and after talking to other couples it didn't seem (to us) worth the time. The Grande is a 30-40 minute drive depending on traffic. And some of the couples told us it had more of a party atmosphere. We thought we were having enough fun with the couples we met to not venture off. We did do the snorkleing excursion with Sandals. You take a bus from the resort through downtown. Which is good because this takes you through the shopping area. So it gives you an idea of if you want to take the time to come back and shop. The Land & Sea tour stops in a small town and there are a few street vendors. So we felt like we were okay with the shopping and didn't go back to downtown.
A few pictures from Sunset overlooking the cliff and from candlelight dinner. These were taken by the Sandals photographers
Yay! This is where we're having our honeymoon. So happy to hear someone else had a wonderful time.
Your pictures are beautiful! Now I really can't wait to go! Thanks for the review.
Thanks so much for posting!! This is where we're going for our honeymoon too... I can't wait! Your pictures are beautiful!!!
Very beautiful pictures..love them.. We are thinking of going to St.Lucia
Thanks for the review. We booked our September honeymoon for Sandals Halycon (St. Lucia). I am still debating the Regency because of the room service which is only an option on the very high level rooms at Halycon. It's nice to hear about the restaurants as I'm sure we will resort hop for dinner.
I just returned from Sandals Negril and Royal Caribbean (destination wedding for a friend and then small vacation) and noticed so many differences between these two Sandlas on one island. One of the big things is I felt, the employees at Negril were always trying to get you to book spa appointments, take photos, just general upselling something that was not a problem at the Royal. Did you have that problem in St. Lucia?
Now you have me day dreaming about my honeymoon...
Thanks for your review! We are going to the Sandals Regency as well. We're staying in the Millionaire Suite for our last 3 nights and I'm sooooo excited! Have you heard anything about their zipline tour through the rain forest?
@phatenigma: Wow! You get to stay in the Millionaire Suite! Let us know how it goes. We really wanted to go to stay in it, but we can't afford it.
We really can't afford it either..lol. We're staying in their bottom tier room for the first four nights but we'll probably be spending a lot of time exploring the resort and island so the room doesn't really matter that much. The final three nights we just want to relax and enjoy the Millionaire Suite. My FH and I haven't been on a real vacation in over 8 years and I thought it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, so we're making some sacrifices. I'll let you all know how it goes. I'm soooo excited!
@phatenigma: That is a good plan. We are staying in the Honeymoon Grand Luxe Ocenveiw Walkout.
gorgeous pictures! it looks like absolute paradise. We are thinking of sandals Bahamas..I have heard that Sandals Jamaica is not good...has anyone been there... is this true?
Oh we are going in July also. I hear it will also be doing Carnival so we are super excited. We are staying in one of the rooms on the hill. The Romeo and Juliet Penhouse Suite. I am so excited. Thank you for the great post. We need more pics.
@trugem A walkout sounda awesome. How long are you staying for?
It sounds like you had an wonderful honeymoon! Great pictures! Thanks for all of your detailed information. I always wanted to go to one of the Sandals locations but I started hearing some bad reviews about them so I changed my mind! I think I will start considering them again.
Sandals St Lucia is where my MOH went on her honeymoon & the loved it!!!
Thanks soooo much for posting this! Great tips and your photos are great! We're going here as well for our honeymoon and can't wait!
Did they upgrade at all when you arrived or did you book the honeymoon room? We have a honeymoon room but it's like the lowest level honeymoon room-- were you up on the cliffs away from the main area? I think we're in the building right next to the pool.
So glad you had a wonderful trip!
awwww yay!! this is where we are going for our honeymoon!!!! I am so excited and happy to hear that you had such a wonderful experience!!!!!! :) congratulations!
Thanks so much for this post! We're going to the Grande resort in June and I'm starting to get really excited.
@phatenigma- We didn't do the zipline tour but several couples did and they enjoyed it a lot. We just didn't have the time.
@Habihah- Yes we stayed on the cliff. We didn't get upgraded. We had already booked that room. I talked to one couple that said they were upgraded.
Oh!! thanks for posting this!! Teddy and I are considering this for our honeymoon!
@MissBeerda- Try googling weather in St. Lucia and you should be able to find what the average for that time of year is.
Do we need different plugs for our electronic devices (chargers, etc.) or are they the same as in the US?
wow, this is great information=) FI and i will be going to St. Lucia and staying at the Regency for our honeymoon, reading this made me superrr excited!!! I can't wait!!=D thanks again for the info!!
GREAT information! Can't wait to show my fiance and see what he thinks!!!

We can't say enough about our honeymoon at the Sandals Regency in St. Lucia. It was everything the photos on their website and the reviews have said.
We choose St Lucia because we wanted to go somewhere tropical that had some Mountains and was a short flight.
We choose Sandals because we wanted an all inclusive. We wanted to be able to pay for the trip months in advance and not worry with extra expenses so close to the wedding. We did add a day of golf and a jeep excursion once we got there but glad we spent the extra money to do these two things. The food was AMAZING!!! All the food and drinks were included. The only dinner not included was a dinner on the beach, which we did and it was the most romantic, peaceful thing we've ever done! They don't expect tips at the Sandals resort which is nice too. Our room was one of the Honeymoon Suites which had a private balacony, bar and mini-fridge, room service included in it. We are glad we got the package that included room service because we used it 3 times because we were leaving or coming back from excursions at off times from the resturants.
We met lots of other couples on their honeymoons and we invited to a wedding on the beach by another couple! Glad we went to their wedding. We took pictures for them!
A FEW TIPS!
1. We are glad we left a day after the wedding. We took Sunday to catch up on rest, re-pack our bags and check out Facebook for some wedding photos! LOL
2. We packed our swimsuits/cover-up in our carry-on bags so we could hope right in the pool upon arrival. Glad we did this because the airline lost our luggage. So we still had a good time because we had our swimsuits! Luggage arrived on Day 2
3. If you have less then an hour between flights you might consider giving yourselft more time in between because... this is the reason for our bags not making it. They didn't have enough time to get from plane A to plane B. We barely had time we ran to the next plane. Which also meant we didn't eat! Which brings me to tip 4!
4. Take a sack lunch- So many of the airlines are not offering meals any more. We normally fly Continental and they have meals (I think this is going away for them too). So we were quite hungry and bought the expensive bag of chips on the plane.
5. Take lots of sunscreen- I only packed one of the spraycans of sunscreen and it lasted two days. Sunscreen is expensive there.
6. Book the Candlelight Dinner on the beach- Again this was so romantic and the food was really good. There was only one other couple having dinner on the beach and they were about 30 feet away from us. So it felt like we were out there alone. They also made us menus with our names on the coverpage with the date and location of our dinner.
7. Take the free pro-photo session- We did one at the candlelight dinner and one on the cliff at sunset overlooking the cove. You can buy as many photos right there or ask that they put them on the CD. We had them put on a CD because then you can buy more prints later. The CD was the same cost
