Weddingbee boards

After being engaged almost 2 years, we finally got married last Saturday, October 9th!  We had an absolutely perfect, amazing day, with almost no hiccups.  The only issues of the day were my sister's refusal to shave her legs (and she does normally shave on a regular basis, so I'm not sure what her problem was) and my father calling me up the morning of my wedding to scream at me and my mom because I refused to let him walk me down the aisle.  Him screaming at me certainly wasn't going to make me change my mind. :p  He's been an ass my whole life, so I didn't let him get to me.  I'm just glad I have an amazingly supportive mother, and fabulous friends to lift me up and keep me positive and focused on the important things in life, like getting ready to marry my fabulous HUSBAND!  :)

I reserved a hotel suite in Manhattan for the weekend, and me and my mom and my bridesmaids all got ready together. We had SO much fun.  Then we all took cabs over the Williamsburg Bridge to Brooklyn to meet my groom and his guys.  They looked so handsome!  I always knew I wanted to do a "first look" and my photographers did a great job of distracting me while my groom snuck up behind me.  I had no idea he was even behind me, since the photographers had told me they were still taking pics at his house.

We took the bridal party pics in the park across from the church, then it was time to head into the church and get MARRIED!  Our priest was amazing, and the ceremony was perfect.  I was a little nervous before the ceremony, but my fabulous hair and makeup people and my coordinator all hung out with me and got me water while I was in hiding before the ceremony.  And once I got down the aisle to my sweet groom, I was all good. :)

  It was so nice doing the receiving line and getting to see everyone and get so many compliments and congratulations. :)

Then we got showered with bubbles and I even got to blow some back at everyone, which was a fun way to calm my nerves, since I'm super shy and not totally comfortable being the center of attention.

Then it was off to our fabulous reception hall.  The views were even better than I remembered!  We got fabulous group shots of the families, and then went up to enjoy our reception.  I definitely made sure I ate, and the food was fantastic.  It was great having all of our friends and family in the same room.  And OMG we have the cutest kids in the whole world in our families.  I'm SO glad they all came, since they stole the show in the best way possible.  They wouldn't let us leave the dance floor all night, and we got a ton of great pics. :)

I can't wait to see the rest!

My husband is telling me to get off the computer, so off I go, but I'm sure I'll post more when we get back from our honeymoon.  We have 2 more weeks in gorgeous Italy, although we've had a very rainy day in Rome today. Oh well, gave us more time to sleep and enjoy just being with each other. ;)
