It is possible to have a very nice wedding for 30G in downtown Chicago. We ended up having 165 guests - invited 217. I would have loved to have seen a budget breakdown of another Chicago bride...so I'm doing it here.

    I'd love to see pics.

FI and I just moved from Chicago and would have LOVED to have gotten married there, but assumed it'd be too much (and we didn't want to plan from a distance...)  But, we are going to end up spending about the same amount as you in Kansas City!

    Good Job!

Can't wait to see!  If you don't mind me asking, where did you get married at?

The Newberry Library (SO gorgeous) at Dearborn and Walton. I posted lots of vendor reviews  previously. You can probably see them if you look at my profile. I loved, loved most of my vendors. Loved.

Yay!  I'm not in Chicago but I like that your budget breaks down in similar ways to mine, with the same priorities.  I'm hoping to spend 20K but I'm having a much smaller guest list.  Thanks for posting this!
