I'm so excited to share this with you!! Fi and I planned to do box invites since we don't have many to send out for your destination wedding!! I love the way they turned out...what do you think, would u be excited if you recieved this in the mail!?
btw, he went to the post office today to weigh a box and it only cost 91 cents!! We were thinking maybe $2 a box...even better!
whoa jingle, those are serioussslllyy gorgeous! that starfish! tooooo sweeet!
These are gorgeous! I was thinking something like this but balked at the idea of mailing boxes out ($).. Turns out, not so bad! Aruba seems fun, too - you can send my invite to MelissaBegins 123 Weddingbee lane. Thanks! ;)
Jingle, seriously, I love that. Super cute! Yeah, go ahead and send mine to Melissa as well. :)
@ Sewing: thanks for the compliment coming from someone to talented! (I just left a comment on your dress blog!)
@ Melissa & Laylabelle: You girls are funny...it'll be in the mail!!
Thanks to the other bees for the wonderful comments!!
Wow, those turned out great! The little purple fish are adorable, along with the starfish! I would be so happy and honored to receive that as an invitation to a friend's wedding!
Fancy and beautiful and OMG the postage rate is reasonable! I love it!!!
O M G! I freaking love it! FANTASTIC! If I opened that up, I would cry...happy tears of course! :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!! Did you know boxed invitations were a fantasy of mine but i thought they were way too expensive to ship?!
Wooooooooow! These are amazing! I wish we could do box invites but we're looking at 200 invitations and that's just... too many for that much postage.
Those turned out fabulous! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the starfish- great job!!
@ Cola: aww thanks!! I was hoping that would be the reaction from my guests! They already loved out boarding pass STDs!
@Azin: I thought it was really good too!! I was kinda scared to ask the Fi to go to the Post office because I thought he might flip 2 the postage price...but it worked out for the better!
@ mmm: haha...happy tears!! I'll let you know if that happens from anyone..maybe our parents!
@ crebre: I had to talk the Fi into doing them too because of the postage. But I assured him it wouldn't be outrageous and we only have 70 to send out. He is actually really happy with how it turned out! The boxes are really light...they are just kraft jewelry boxes from papermart. They have so many sizes and colors!! You should totally do it if thats what you want!!
@KM: Yeah 200 might be a lot...but your guest will love it! Don't you just wish there was no budget boundaries!!
AmberEyes: Some bees are asking for an invite too...haha! I'll put you on that list!
Hehe @Melissa and Layla! Seriously... those are adorable, Jingle! I know your guests will love them because I would love to open up one of those babies! Also, you totally know they'll keep them longer, because come on, who would want to throw that away?
@ LaborofLove: haha...at least they get a souveneir worth saving right?!
Gorgeous, gorgeous!! I love them!!! I'd double check with another PO about any surcharge for shipping a box! They told us one thing for our STD's and half of them ended up returned OR they asked people for money when they delivered them - EEK! I don't want that to happen to you!
yes ditto what quiche said! Sometimes one post office can vary with another, even if the package stays the same. I can't explain it, but it happens!
wow Jingle those are super nice and adorable! I wish I could have a small wedding and do something nice like that! Sadly, it's 130 people. ugh ugh
Oh my goodness!!! i LOVE them!! Very creative, I would think you guys did a good job after getting that in the mail :)
i would book a ticket right then and there if i got this invite! i love box invites, they're so special (not that i've gotten one). it's amazing, you did a beyond wonderful job!
these are awesome awesome!!!! such a great invite to receive as a guest, wonderful job!
@ quiche & melissa: Fi wene to the post office to actually mail it out and it did cost more, which was ok, because we were' originally thinking $2 per box, but it got shipped for $1.71!
@ Soontobee: Actually our destination guest list is 130!! So we're sending out 70 invites (lots of couples). So we figured that we'd spend about $115 on postage all together!
@ Lee: Thanks girl! I hope our guest feel the same way!! It kinda is taking a lot of time to put these babies together!!
@ misspug: Thanks for the compliment from a talented bee herself! The point of doing more elaborate invites was to get people excited about the trip! So i hope people book when they get it!! haha. Not that I'll be offened if people don't, hard times!
You ladies make me blush..thanks for the compliments!!
Omgosh, I love the fishies and purples and packaging. You did an amazing job!
I love your ivitations and would be honored as a guest to receive one. Can you tell me what you are mailing them in? Another box or an envelope?
@ noritake: I just wrapped the box in brown packing paper and used clear packing tape. My mom received her invite in the mail today ( I did a test run first-she was the guinea pig). She loved it and shae said the box wasnt tampered or ruined from shipping! We mailed it yesterday and she recieved today!!
Wow!!! Perfect!!!
Thank you for sharing. I wanted to do boxe invitations, but the only thing that I could come up with were the priority, $4.80 a pop USPS boxes. I really think I over analyze things. Because of your post, I know how to send them for less. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
And, your invitations really do look awesome
@ noritake: I initially said it cost $0.91 but we were mistaken. It actually cost $1.71 to ship instead...still not too bad, but if box is what you want go for it!! It'll always be remembered!!
This the FI...just hacking into her post. SHHHHH don't tell her (actually I guess she'll read this anyways) Haha...thanks to all your comments. We worked on these invitations and we're glad it turned out the way we visioned it to be. Good luck to anyone that try this out.
-Jeff
@Jeff: that's the cutest thing ever that you hacked in!! I adore your fi, she's the cutest thing evah!!!
She's def awesome! I designed the actual invitation part only and she designed everything else. She let me pick out the layout, fonts, wording and the reef/fish. Now that's love!
