I have always loved the idea of a STD magnet, but when I looked online at how much they cost…. I was less than enthused.
We decided to design a double sided postcard instead, and we had them ready to go.
Then, things changed when I found a Xyron 900 machine on ebay for dirt cheap.
The neat thing about them is that you can get cartridges to make magnets, not just stickers.
So I emailed our photographer to get the file for one more picture, and these were born:
We’re going to be printing 6 to a page, running them through the magnet cartridge, then cutting them apart.
I plan to slip them in with the postcards that we already have planned- The postcard will be more detailed, but the magnet can serve as a quick reminder on the fridge 🙂

I wouldn’t have done magnets either if I hadn’t been able to do them myself.
It just worked out that I got to try out a Xyron machine at a wedding invite workshop and decided it was something I liked.
I found one on ebay for $15.50 + $15 shipping (they’re normally over $100) and I snatched it up.
It wasn’t until after I had bought it that I realized I could get a magnet cartridge for it!
I LOVE it, though…. the sticker cartridge has been making decorating a breeze, and I’ve been making magnets out of everything!

Those are so cute! Yay for great deals! And I think it’s a great idea to send out the magnets with a more detailed postcard. Plus, who doesn’t love getting more cute wedding items? 🙂
