We're having Junior Mink in our wedding. He'll be escorted by one of the groomsmen or ringbearers (haven't decided yet). We aren't putting the rings on him, though. People sell ring pillows for dogs, but even my super well behaved golden would probably find a pollow on his back a little annoying. :)
I've been collecting pictures of dogs in weddings from blogs for months. Here's my collection: http://pinterest.com/smallchic/wedding-dogs/
Oooh, thanks, those are great! Have you seen any pics of dogs carrying signs down the aisle. I'm not sure how people know the bride is coming if there's not standard "Here comes the bride" music...feeling the need to have a sign saying "here comes the bride" but it feels funny to have an adult carrying such a sign!!!
@mink: I was thinking of using his old harness and attaching the ring pillow to it (without the real rings), but I'm sure we'd need to practice with it on for a while! I've seen people call the dog down the aisle when it's time for ring exchange, but it sounds like you're going to have Junior Mink come down the aisle during the processional and have him stay at the front with you?? So much to consider! Thanks!
Both of our dogs were included in our ceremony.
The Husky mix was the ring dog and did carry the rings:
Our American Eskimo dog was the flower dog and we just attached some flowers to her collar:
Ooh! Dog leash with wedding rings as the pattern!

I wish I could've had my dogs as part of my wedding, but I just couldn't make it work with four of them.

The third memeber of our family is our dog. I never thought I'd say those words, but it's true. Our 100 pound lab mix is a well-behaved, happy dog who everyone loves! He follows commands well, and I realize the potential for it not going as planned is there...and I'm ok with that!
What I was thinking is this: we don't have any young children close to us, so we won't have a ring bearer or flower girl, so I was thinking of having our dog carry a sign that says "Here Comes the Bride". Has anyone seen this? We're still debating if he'll walk down alone or with someone on a leash. We don't know who would walk him down, maybe a friend of ours he is comfortable with. Any thoughts or pics would be appreciated, I'm having a hard time getting started!
