My FI did not want to wear a wedding ring at ALL but after talking it over with him for many months he agreed. In fact, I think he has come around to where he might even wear it more than 50% of the time. We ordered the ring today and he said “I guess now I am going to be publicly married soon” and he was referring to the ring as a “public sign.” But when we sent our families the pictures, they weren’t enthused. They are of course entitled to their opinion and they weren’t rude about it but it made me a little sad because it took so much to get him to agree to have one so I wished he had gotten some of that excitement/encouragement. No one else will see his ring for a month until the wedding (and we don’t have it in his size yet) so I’m wondering what you guys think – did we make a mistake or does anyone have any nice comments I can share with him :)? Thanks ladies!
sorry they are all blurry :/

Firework: I love it! Who cares what other people think? The only people whose opinion matters are the two of you.

If he loves it and you love it – that’s all that should matter. I don’t think it matters what his family thinks. My DH picked out his own ring and he loves it (he should – he’s the one who has to wear it). We never even thought to send a photo of our bands to our parents.

Very similar to my fiances ring. None of their business anyway, we haven’t shown anyone his ring.

As long as HE likes it, he has to wear it they can go pound sand.

It looks like every other dudes ring. There’s really nothing different about it. It doesn’t matter what your families think. They’re not wearing it.

It’s a really nice looking ring…very classy! What is their problem? What don’t they like? Is it the 2 tone? It’s a hell of a lot nicer than the majority of the rings I see on men.

I think it’s nice! Don’t let other people discourage you!

I like it quite a bit! I have no idea why someone would dislike this ring. Did they actively dislike it or were they just not excited about it?

A few caveats. Culturally the ring is supposed to be an engagement ring from my parents to him (they are paying for it) so we showed it to them upon ordering because they wanted him to have a say in it.
I think them not liking it might be a cultural thing as well, his parents prefer more yellow gold, or some small diamonds on it/a little more bling.
But neither of them were rude about it – they accepted our choice. I just wanted a little excitement so he would feel encouraged about it.
Many of us girls love people fawning over our rings so I just wanted him to have a little of that 😉
julies1949 – Thank you! 🙂

He’s the one who has to like it.

Firework: maybe your expectactions were too high? Most men’s wedding rings look similar/generic. I’ve never really been blown away by one that I’ve seen, so consequently I don’t usually react with a lot of excitement or react at all to a man’s band. In my case the lack of an over the top response doesn’t mean I dislike the ring. If someone sent me a pic of the ring you chose above I would probably just say “that’s nice” or “congrats”, because really- what else is there to say about a rather plain, but nice ring? On the contrary, I don’t care for flashy or blingy rings on men at all.

Firework: i love it. I normally don’t like yellow gold but i love the 2 tone. my FI band is pretty similar with the double milgrain but it is entirely in platinum. I think the most important thing is that your FI likes it since he is the one who has to wear it 🙂

It’s beautiful and who the heck cares what anyone else thinks about it? As long as your FH bad you love it, that’s all that matters!

I personally like it, my SO wanted something pretty similar, but ended up picking something different, do you like it? What about him? Thats all it matters. They’re some nice tungsten ones you should look around some more if you find something else that you fuys like more.
