underblueskies1016 :  I had an entire invitation come back in a bigger envelope without the envelope it was mailed in and was super confused like who would mail me back their invitation? The response card was blank which made me more confused. When FI picked it up off the tabel where I set it, the RSVP envelope fell and I saw words written all over it asking us not to send mail to them again… Apparently we had the wrong address for one of our guests, but didn’t kow cause our save the date never came back to us! So I guess these people opened up my invitation and looked at it then sent it back, why they wouldn’t write “return to sender” and place in their mailbox, I have no idea.

We got 3 cards back that had an extra stamp on them.

It was a thin little envelope, so there was no way anyone would think “Oh this is too heavy, I need another stamp.”

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

underblueskies1016 :  I’m wondering if this guest maybe got an invitation for a different wedding, but for some reason thought it was for yours (likely didn’t read closely enough)

whatever the situation, this is too funny πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

underblueskies1016 :  I would have FI call his friend and ask. What if he never got the invite… but other friends had. he might be thinking.. I’m going to respond as if I was invited and see what they say.

I’m guessing here… but he’s a friend and he was invited, so just call and ask him.

So funny!  I also wonder if he’s confusing yours with another invite he may have gotten!

Some of my mom’s friends RSVPd and added their kids with a note saying they’ll cover the costs of bringing the kids :/

When I read the part about the conversation between your fiancé and his friend, my first thought was that the friend was just honestly confused as to how he was suppose to RSVP (maybe he doesn’t understand it’s all digital) and was just trying to feel the situation out with your fiancé.  Just an inkling!  But yeah it will be funny to see if you actually do get an rsvp in the mail from him 😊

Unless this guy took out his personal stationary and wrote you a note RSVPing for your wedding (unlikely), he probably got our invite, lost it, but was too embarrassed to tell your FI. He obviously doesn’t realize that it didn’t include response cards. He called to make sure you knew he was coming since his RSVP will be “lost in the mail.”

Mine isn’t a funny RSVP story but it did leave me scratching my head! lol A friend of mine RSVP’d for herself, her 4 year old daughter, and a guest. She was the only one invited. 😬 I’m guessing she just doesn’t know the etiquette. Obviously I’ll just excuse it and move on but those are two extra mouths to feed that we hadn’t planned on! 😩 And her whole family (mom, dad, sister, brother, sister in law, etc) will be there so it’s not like she’d be alone. Maybe I’M the one who is in the wrong by not allowing her a plus one but man, we are really stretched in the guestlist area!

ANYway! Let’s just hope none of my other guests take liberties!!
