WOW!  It finally happened!  A vendor we wanted to hire for our 9/2012 wedding was already booked!  In fact, our #2 choice was already booked too!  Now I don't look so crazy for booking the venue 13 months ahead!

OMG you're scaring me!  I *only* have the venue and wedding planner booked!  And you're getting married the day after me on a Sunday, that's pretty amazing they're booked up on a Sunday already.  Shiza, guess I better really get my butt in gear!

Uh-oh, now I'm worried! We're getting married 8/31, and all we've booked is our venue! :S Hopefully our Friday wedding will make it a bit easier to get vendors, though.. *crosses fingers*.
Hopefully everything falls into place for you!

Umm....yep!  I think we all need to get going! lol!  So far I have contracts with:

    1. Church
    2. Reception Venue
    3. Caterer
    4. Photographer
    5. Ceremony Dress

    Pending contracts with:

    1. Officiant (meeting with him in two weeks!)
    2. DJ
    3. Florist

Oh, and we had our engagement pics done two weeks ago.  Patiently waiting for them to come in!  Then I'll get started on the STD's (sorry, still makes me giggle!) which I think we'll be sending in February.

I think once the holidays are over it will really hit home!!  WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!

We're still in the process of booking our venue, and when we first started looking a month or so ago, TWO places were already booked- on our Sunday date!! Fortunately the venue and caterer we are planning on going with are both wide open on our Sunday date-- but I am still nervous about some of the others! We better get a move-on!!

When I first got engaged in June, I found venues were already booked 15 months out! Good luck!

Had the same thing happen to me 2 weeks ago - got a response from the DJ I wanted saying he was already booked...getting that response is such a bummer!  But we moved on and found another one we like and we're good to go. At this point, we've booked pretty much every vendor except the officiant and florist. The florists acted like I was crazy when I called this early, but, whatever, it makes me feel better to have everything booked!  :)

I'm actually surprised that venues weren't booked up sooner.  My top three venues were booked from April to November. One was actually booked solid with no availability whatsoever!  One had a Sunday available and somehow, quite possibly a miracle, the venue I chose was completely booked except for the Saturday 9/1/12 date that I wanted.  On a holiday weekend no less!

My owner of the venue I picked told me that the day I chose is her birthday, so if I would pick any other day, that would be great.

Needless to say, I found another venue!!!!!!

Our venue was booked for every Saturday in 2012 so we had to go with a Sunday.  It's a local historical landmark on the ocean, and we had our hearts set on the location.  So, a Sunday wedding it is!

I booked my church and reception venue back in February (18 months out) and I had to change my prospective date because the hall was already reserved for the date I originally wanted. Don't think that you're doing things TOO early!

by picking my venue early and paying up front I save 19% on my catering bill which is almost the whole gratituty charge I was happy that I picked early... my only worry is I am not in love with my photographer....

If you can believe it, I went through SEVEN celebrants before finding one.  And you know what, I think the universe had something to do with that.  I havent had the face to face meeting with him yet, but we have chatted back and forth across email like we are long lost friends.  His beliefs on spirituality are so in tune with mine.  I have even had discussions about my 4 year old and her memories of past lives with him.  I can see a friendship being created lasting long after the ceremony, and I am super excited!!!!

I got my first "we're booked" for a florist!  Sadly it's the best one in my area, but on the good side maybe it means the others will be less $$?

I've asked all the people I'm currently working with to let me know if anyone else starts getting seriously interested in my date or for people like bakers who do a couple cakes for one day, to let me know when they start to get full so I can make a decision.

My top choice officiant was booked for Sept 8th when I called him on October 25th.

I finally found a reverend, but it took 2 months and 4 guys who were already booked.

I sent a mass email to photographers on the knot within our budget. 6 were booked. 5 from wedding wire were booked. FINALLY found a good one after, again, two months.
