Hey Bees ♥
We have a seven month old American Bulldog cross puppy. He is the absolute apple of our eye and our absolute pride and joy! We got him at five weeks (his mum died) and we wanted him for years before we were actually in a position to get a dog.
My h2b has been out of work for a couple of months so has been with Toby every day, but he is now back in work and it’s making us think about getting another puppy as a companion for Toby.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Toby will be quite a big dog, but we were thinking of getting a female of the same breed.
Any advice would be appreciated, we want him to have the best life that we can give him!
Please note also we are getting married in August and want to start a family in the next year or so!

I laughed so hard at that last pic, you two are adorable!
As for getting another dog, I am sure other people will have better advice than I. (I don’t own a dog.)

@olivepepper haha thanks! We both had dogs living at home but we went to live in Australia for a year and then New Zealand for another year. We wanted a dog so bad but knew our home country wasnt for keeps so we waited til we came back to the UK. Now we have him he is just the most loved and wanted dog ever, he is like our little third wheel, even when we are driving he likes to sit up front so hes not left out on the back seat haha!♥♡♥

what a sweet face – love the picture of your furbaby and am going to try to get my dog to do a selfie too!!!!
we have thought the same thing. we love him to bits and want to make sure he is happy when we are at work. Right now he has a great little life and we are both always happy to see each other at the end of the day. Based on your pictures, it looks like your dog has a great little life too!
We had two thoughts that made us change our mind on getting a second dog: 1) that he might really enjoy having the two of us to himself (i know i dont want to share him) and we decided to make a real effort to make sure he has an activity toy during the day in a yard and play time with us at night, and 2) we would like to get another dog in about five years, so that our current dog can teach him the manners we so love about him! just a few thoughts for ya! looks like my dog-loving craziness is out of the closet now!!!
best of luck with your furbaby – I am sure it will be a great decision either way. dogs have infinite love and so do ‘furmoms’!

@mrs_loml haha i think my dog loving craziness is pretty much impossible to hide!
My parents have two jack russels and they are so perfect together but with Toby quickly growing into one meaty little chunk, Im not sure how easy it would be to have two of him!
Loving the furmom love, will keep thinking!♥♡♥
