So I don’t know about you guys, but for months I thought to myself – Am I forgetting something? I just felt like I didn’t manage to get everything into my budget and lists, etc. I noted that we needed transportation, but we had never planned to worry about getting anyone around other than ourselves – and I’d already discussed with a few wedding party folks who would drive where and when the days before and of.
Suddenly a week ago (three weeks before the wedding) I realized that we had no means or way of getting from our venue to our hotel for the night! *face palm* Not only did I have NO reservation, I also had no MONEY budgeted towards a towncar or limo service. After calling many companies, I found that because of our location (and how far from Seattle we are) there isn’t a reasonable rate for the short 15 minute drive. Maybe I’m cheap, but I have a hard time giving a company $250+ bucks to drive me across town – especially since I’m getting married 10 minutes from my own home.
I’m happy to report that my friend’s father – whom I have never met, mind you – graciously offered to transport us at 11 pm on a Friday night in his luxury ride! He’s picking us up in his white BMW and we now have a getaway driver – FOR FREE!
Just posting because I get closer to our wedding and look back on some of the stress, drama, tears and hassle – it’s nice to take a moment and reflect on the positive.
