Boy! We are leaning towards Mater, like off of Cars! :) It is so sad though, he came from a puppy mill and is super skinny and shakey and hardly walks :( I hope he gets healthy soon!!!!
Aw I love him and I love that name. Poor little puppy...I'm sure he will thrive in a loving home! I want to hug him :)
My two girls (I have 2 girls, a pug and a Bugg, and a boy pug) are from a puppy mill. When we got them they were 3-5 yrs old (vet wasn't sure) and didn't know what toys were, and weren't potty trained... were SO SKINNY and had really saggy pug-boobs. They are AMAZINGLY vibrant and differnt now... strangly both got mast cells (cancer) but are fully recoverd and SO HAPPY not to be in a puppy mill anymore. Only signs that they were - Sophie can't be confined (we have a foot square area of scratched-out wood floor to prove it) and Dixie eats her own poop! (watch for that- it's common with PM dogs)
He is BEAUTIFUL... congrats! PM me if you have any questions about gettin' him used to normal life (not sure if you have other dogs or if you're new at PM rescuing.) SO GLAD you chose to rescue!!!!
I hope he starts to move around a little! We gave him food and he was eating so fast he wasn't even chewing! We had to take it away and just give him a little at a time. he is all curled up in a down comforter now though, so I hope he is happy! :)
Oh we had the same issue with Sophie! She still does- gobbles her food and then sometimes will throw it up- whole kibbles. And then the Bugg eats the throw up. Seriously if only they knew how disgusting they are :)
I had great luck with this bowl (brake fast bowl) to get her to slow down while eating.
Oh my gosh! That bowl is perfect! I was just telling FI that we were gonna have to get something to put in his bowl to slow him down. I am definitaly buying that bowl!
Ahhh! Silver labs are soooooooooo cute! At the apartment complex we used to live in there was one and I absolutely loved it.
In the meantime if you can put his food on a baking tray, it helps because it's harder for them to eat so it takes longer.
that is a really good idea!!!! We will do that. We are going to try to give him some more food before we go to bed. He is so skinny :(
Rosie - He is really cute! I know you want to remedy the skinniness, but it is really easy to overwhelm their tummies when they haven't had much food. You should talk to a vet, and find out how much food, and what kind of food to feed him to make sure he gains weight in a healthy way. Show, consistent weight gain is way healthier in the long run, even if he is super scrawny!

Mater made it through his first night with lots of diarrhea and some accidents, but this morning he is much more lively! Even exploring a little :)
Rosie! How sweet! We just rescued a dog as well & it has been so satisfying and FUN as she explores and gets used to her new home. I know that your little guy is SO HAPPY right now, trust me! He already knows how much you love him. I am tearing up right now!! Congrats on the new, adorable little guy!
aww he is such a sweetie!! it tears me to think of puppy mills but knowing you saved him must be so rewarding. Like Quiche said, he must be so happy and feel so loved!

Awww! So cute!!! I'm so glad you gave him a nice, new home!!!! He'll gain wait quicker than you think-but I wouldn't feed him too much as somebody above mentioned, because he's used to eating so little. See what the vet says about feeding smaller amounts and increasing gradually? He's adorable!!
We decided to get him a friend! I know, we are crazy!!!! But now he doesn't have to stay alone, and he actually has started to play a lot with her. So, here is our OTHER new puppy Sally:
