Hi All! Over the holidays, my Fiance decided to have our Islamic Ceremony done in Michigan so my Sito (Grandma) could be there! We are having our civil ceremony and reception in July, but this was really special to me and I just wanted to share! It was very casual and intimate, but meant so much to me!
His parents came too! I was so happy that they decided to join! I don’t think they knew what to expect, but it couldn’t have gone better!
My cousin wanted us to stage an exchanging of rings pic, so we used my engagement ring!
Here’s everyone after the ceremony!
My mom gave my Fiance a joke gift for the wedding! He couldn’t stop playing with my cousin’s son’s toy spy glasses one night, so she got them for him! He LOVED them!
My mom, me, Fiance, and his parents!
We were surprised by a wedding cake! My favorite: German chocolate cake from Elite Sweets!! Yum!!!
Cutting the cake!
My mom and best friend!

Looks lovely. I might have to message you in the future to learn more about the Nikah ceremony. My SO is muslim and were talking about having the Nikah first, then a ceremony/reception several months later. I’ve tried doing some research on my own about the Nikah, but coming up empty handed.

You two are gorgeous!
I have to say that I’m a total nerd for getting a peek into the wedding ceremonies of other faiths and cultures. Thanks for sharing!

@mink: Agreed! I love looking at weddings from different cultures around the world! I especially love really bright colourful Indian weddings, I’ve been to a couple and I’m always saucer eyed looking at all the beautiful outfits (and the food, omg, the food!!!).
