Congratulations and good luck settling in! I agree it's definitely a scary but rewarding process!

The search is over! Our offer was accepted! Although not as much land as we would have liked, it is almost 3 acres. Has a nice patch of woods in the very front (with vernal ponds, woo hoo!), a nice front yard, a HUGE back yard and a lower forested level that borders the creek. We just had the worst flooding here in the past 15 years and we kept checking on the property and the house and yard stayed dry. The house is an older (1975) three bedroom ranch with 2 fireplaces and a newly renovated kitchen (it rocks!).
The best part is that there is no zoning or ordinances that prevent us from building a barn and play yard for the sanctuary cats. This will be a HUGE adjustment for all of us. I have not had any neighbors in 15 years and the cats are used to running wild. But this is the best we can do for them, at least we will all be together and they will have shelter, food and US!
Now for all the financial stuff. Oh we have the funds! But for a life-long renter, this process is terrifying!
