Well, we had planned on having my fi’s aunt do our ceremony, and she was so excited. But she’s older, and she’s been having some health problems, but has assured us that she would be able to handle it. Well, we were skeptical, especially after her first stroke. But now she has had another stroke, and is in the hospital as we speak, and now I know that she would not be able to do the ceremony, and I wuoldn’t want to put that pressure on her.
The problem is, is that we have no clue how to go about finding someone in this short of time to officiate us. I mean, the local church folk basically called my fi a monster (for reasons that are completely false, and really judgemental.) so asknig them would be really awful.
I really dont know what to do. Suggestions?

That sucks 🙁 I hope your fiance’s aunt is going to be ok! Is there anyway another vlose
Friend or family member would be up for getting certified to officiate? I have no idea about this process but i’ve heard of people doing this before.

Google “wedding officiants”- or check out ads here, or on the knot.

@Mrs.Sunflower: Where are you located?

Anyone can be ordained for a day for like $25 to do the ceremony…just google ceremonies online to get a sense for how you want to structure your own and go from there.

@Mrs.Sunflower: Look on Weddingwire, Onewed, Wedplan and there are many others. All you need to do is put in the zipcode for where you are getting married and pick Officiant/Clergy from the drop down menu. Read their welcoming statement and you will get a good feel for the type of person they are; plus don’t be afraid to call them up and talk to them. Remember, many Officiants will drive 50 or more miles to do a ceremony.
I wish you the best of luck.
