January 26th, the day of our original wedding date that we had to cancel (for financial reasons as well as personal – my mom left my dad over the summer.) My fiance and I made a two and a half hour drive this past Saturday to visit one of my close friends and her newborn baby girl in the hospital. She was born by c-section on January 25th, and is a beautiful, healthy baby.
The reason I wanted to post this on the boards? I realized that my friend who was due Feb 1st, wouldn’t have made it to my wedding and I would’ve been thinking about her and baby in the lead up to the wedding. Instead, fiance and I enjoyed the time spent with baby cuddled up in our arms and sleeping peacefully without a care in the world. Those are the moments you cherish. We will get married eventually, when timing and money collides, but for right now, January 26th, 2013 I will remember spending time with people I love and welcoming a little person into the world. 🙂

I am glad you canceled. It seems that there were just too many uncontrollable forces that would have been very stressful.

I love that you are so positive about the situation. You and your FI will be married, and that day will be amazing.

@jlc3: Even though you had to cancel January 26, you have a new date to look forward to!
I am probably going to be sad on June 1 because that was my wedding date, but we broke up. I’ve gotten back together with my ex from junior high and high school so I’m hoping that I’m busy that day so I won’t have time to be sad.

This totally warmed my heart! And I’m in the same boat…although nothing quite so wonderful happened on our original wedding date :o) We also had to reschedule for financial/personal reasons and are now set to get married on April 20th. I am SO happy that we have waited until now to do this and I am more certain than ever that he is the man I will spend the rest of my life with. Be encouraged and keep that positive attitude always! Thank you for sharing 🙂

Our original date and the date we held onto for a very long time was back in November which we postponed due to schedule conflicts. I was fairly bummed out that weekend as it was a beautiful day, but honestly I have no idea what I did that weekend and I completely put it all out of my mind after it passed. We have a new day to look forward to!
Kudos to you for all the positvity! 🙂
