- Wedding: May 2015
Our date is a ways off, 18 months. We were hoping to have the wedding during the winter and in his parents home, nothing too large under 50 guests or so. They had a friend over last night and they just gave us the bad news. Their friend is a professional photographer and once they mentioned the wedding he told them that it wouldnt work. We would have enough space to eat and mingle but he was concerned that the lighting wasnt good enough to allow the most flattering images but also in that amount of space it would hard to get more than 2-3 angles for many shots. This basically comes down to every photo looking the same, not getting the shots we want during the ceremony as he said the photographer would be very noticable bobbing back and forth in attempt to get us what we want but it would ruin the ceremony. I have had my heart set on an at home wedding for years but my parents home is too small to even have 8 people over for dinner comfortably. I guess we are thankful we found out now instead closer to the date. Photography was our number one priority for the day so knowing that it would be subpar is heart breaking but knowing now that we need to really get in gear saving for an alternative isnt that much better. I’m happy we know now and can start from the beginning again with plenty of time but I feel like I am throwing everything out the window I wanted now that the budget will be different and priorities changing.
