- Wedding: September 2012
We married a bit over two months ago and I finally got our pro pics back! Since I love reading everyone else’s recap posts, I thought I’d share some photos of my own.
Our venue pretty much came pre-decorated with a lot of interesting rustic and vintage stuff, but we did add a few things of our own.
My mom, aunt, and grandmother sewed all the table runners and my mom and sister made the birdcage centerpieces.
For some reason, all our foreign guests loved the pink lemonade. I guess they had never had it before. Well, the Americans also loved it, so maybe it was just really good.
We made most of the food we served (minus a few things from the deli) and it was mostly finger foods and snacks, since ours was a mid-afternoon wedding. Of course, we had way too much food and were eating wedding leftovers the rest of the week. I didn’t mind because I hardly got to eat any of it on our wedding day.
My sister made all the little food labels to match the invitations I had made.
The popcorn was just as popular as the pink lemonade. I found the cutest popcorn boxes here in Australia and I carted them all the way to America with me. My mom and sister made the popcorn baskets out of half bushel baskets, fabric, and lace.
I ordered my guestbook from an Etsy seller and the cardbox was something my mom found at Hobby Lobby.
My bouquet also came from an Etsy seller, so obviously they were fake flowers. However, they looked real enough to me and didn’t make me sneeze.
We actually had our cake made by the grocery store bakery and they did a really nice job for a fraction of the price of a regular wedding cake baker. My sister brought in some images she found on Pinterest that we both liked and they came up with a design involving birds and birdcages. I hate fondant, so they used regular icing. It was probably the best tasting cake I’ve ever had. However, we didn’t actually see our cake until we went to cut it. I had no idea what to expect! Happily, we were very pleasantly surprised.
This sign came with the venue, but I thought it was neat that they had it up there. Very appropriate for a wedding!
I’ll leave it at that for now and maybe upload some photos of the ceremony later.
