It was tough to write and post pics so here’s my written (abbreviated) recap:
This was a beautiful, love-filled, much-anticipated and prayed for day- we’ve never felt more loved! It was a cooler day than usual for July 5 but it worked out beautifully!
Do a first look! It will ease your nerves and be one of the most special moments of your day. 🙂
Practice sitting in your dress- I nearly passed out on the way to the chapel- that sucker was tight!
Make a suuuppper detailed shot list- all the shots we didn’t get were very clearly my fault for not asking for but I’m soooo happy with how the ones we have turned out- our photographers were AWESOME- Ben and Miranda at Vibrenti Photography in Chicago. 🙂
Suck in every moment and don’t be afraid to cry- I practically sobbed during the first look and definitely was nearly inaudible during our hand-written vows.
Try not to look terrified walking down the aisle. Can’t say I achieved that one.
Did I mention savoring the moment? Do it! It’s soooo crazy that it’s one day, like eveyone says, it FLIES by!
I’m still shocked how few of the details really mattered and honestly how little I remember them.
Our handwritten vows
My big ole hoopskirted dress being the DRAMA I was looking for
Our first look
Our prayer circle with our parents who have been married over 25 years each
My Bridesmaid or Best Man singing our first dance song live
My two MOHs singing their own version of Wicked’s “Loathing” switched to “Loving” instead of speeches (lol should have been tipped off when they spoke at the rehearsal dinner)
My voiceover recorded over my Father/Daughter dance explaining why I chose the song
My brother coming home from the Air Force for the wedding
Our sparkler exit- but dancing alone in the reception hall first while our guests waited outside
Best of luck bees- savor the day, but even more, savor the marriage that comes after- it’s even better (though definitely less tulle skirts in married life so far. 🙂
Thank you WeddingBee for all your love, support and advice from the waiting stage to the Big Day itself and after- I love you guys!
Love it!! You look beautiful!! And I love your recap and advice!
Gorgeous. All of it. Congrats!
Your pictures are gorgeous, but your recap blog nearly made me cry (happy cry).
Just a few more from a different computer- I can’t resist!
Stunning photos!! You look beautiful and so so happy. Love it.
Thank you so much for all of your replies ladies- we just got our higlight video today and I’m waiting to watch it with my Darling Husband tonight but will post it soon and you’ll probably see all the crying in real time! #storyofmylife. 🙂
