I’m soooooo frustrated!!!! I need to take a second and take a deep breath before I explode!!!………………………………….
ahhhh much better!!!
Ok that aside, we just found out that our all inclusive wedding venue that we’ve had booked since July 2011 has shut down and filed bankruptcy!!! And they JUST contacted us trying to get us to rush in and give our final payment! I’m so angry and frustrated that a company could do something like this to people on what’s supposed to be the happiest day of their lives!
We’re now out thousands of dollars and we have to find a whole new venue/photographer/caterer/florist… the list goes on and on… by October 6th which is supposed to be our wedding date. Did I mention they have my dress to?!?!
Luckily other the other brides who have been affected have come together for support and the wedding community here is Vegas has offered great help and discounts for all of the couples affected. I’m again just so angry and stressed I don’t even know where to start and what to do next!
Has anything like this happened to you? Do you think we’ll be able to plan a wedding in 2 months?! I’m freaking out! @#)#$%*

Why do they have your dress?!?!!? Was it a one stop shop?

What location was it? And WOW, that is lame. But you totally have time to find a new plan…I cannot believe they tried to scam you out of your final payment. Absolute trash.

Wow, that’s terrible. Why do they have your dress? I’m confused.
Good luck finding a new venue!

You’ll bounce back! Just take it a step at a time. Step one, venue. Then you have more information for the other vendors.

While my venue didn’t shut down (so I can’t relate there – though I am so sorry. the stress!) I did wait until the last minute to really do very much planning for my wedding.
We contacted our (now) venue June 5th to ask if they had any availability for Aug 11 or 18. Life has been a little hectic, and a large percentage of each paycheck has been going to wedding related pruchases in the last 2 months, but I AM going to have a wedding. There will be guests, there will be a pastor, there will be a venue, flowers, a photographer and food. And there will be my Fiance and me exchanging vows and starting the rest of our lives together.
Of course you’re freaking out, people, in general, don’t like change. When our major plans are turned upside down it’s terrifying… but that doesn’t mean that you can’t make things work out!

@Mars62312: They have my dress because it was kindof like a one stop shop. They had everything included. They had their own bridal shop and when we were looking at different venues they told us if we booked with them they’d give us a discount on my dress. So that’s why they have the dress. It wassupposed to be in June 25th but they never called and we weren’t able to get a hold of them.
The place is called Griffin Mansions. Thanks for all the support ladies 🙂

@abbie017: They had a bridal shop attached to the venue! They offered a discount on dresses if you booked through them
