@Jackie-o My FI is a pilot for a commerical airline. I do community theater musicals so when we found our airplane hangar venue and decided on the 1940s USO theme it was a perfect fit for both of us. Plus lots of our guests will be pilots and Flight attendants so it will be fun for them too. Some of our guests are flying small planes and landing at our venue :) Can't wait!

Those are adorable! I like that you tied your FI's interest into your wedding invites. My FI is a cyclist, so all our paper products have bicycles on them.

Thanks everyone! I should add that I tied the whole set together with a wide dark purple ribbon. I'll post pictures of those later!
We also had Shannon enlarge the invitation into a poster size 19x23 (I think) and I had it framed without glass. This will serve as our guest sign-in book. After the wedding I'll add the glass back and hang it on the wall!
Man, this is sooooo cool and I am so jealous that FI and I don't have lives nearly so interesting enough to base an awesome wedding theme off of them. :P I agree with the posters who said you NEED to post pics from your wedding!

I worked with Shannon from AprilInk to design our 1940s USO Inspired Invitations. They turned out so cute! The airplane is a P-51 Mustang which is my FI's favorite plane. The tail of the plane has our initials and wedding date. We went with a telegram look for the RSVP. She did change our names and wedding details so she could sell the design on her site.
We couldn't be happier! What do you think?!
