So I actually found out my mom had some pretty good shots of our centerpieces and I just can’t wait on the pro ones anymore! haha. I’ll do a full recap with all of the details and whatnot, but just wanted to share my super strange wedding centerpieces that people seemed to REALLY like!
It was my mom’s idea because we aren’t “flower people.” We DIY’ed a lot of the wedding and this was one of the more major parts. We had a super relaxed afternoon wedding and they worked really well!
They are plate stands that we painted silver, with some of our family favorite’s on each plate. The top one was “Reasey Pizza” <– after a family member, then my Nanny’s Cheesecake Brownie Bites, my Papa’s Roasted Pecans (which was nice since he passed away in November) and then my Mom’s Cinnamon Tortillas. There was not much left! I can’t even explain how many people asked for recipes.
The two things you see hanging are pictures of us from throughout our relationship – we had 2 per table, so that’s a LOT of pictures! haha. Then just some flower petals, floating candle, some purple mats underneath (for balance) and that’s about all she wrote, bees. They were simple, fun, and practical at the same time (kept people satisfied while waiting in line for food.)
Without Further Adie….AmeliaBedelia’s weirdo centerpieces. 🙂

Mmmm…. edible centerpieces.

@MapleMoose: Right? I definitely snuck a few more bites than I should have, haha.
@Eight6Eleven: Haha, wow, thanks. 🙂 I’m flattered. We really ended up liking them. I was skeptical at times thinking they’d look cheap but they fit right in with our other decor AND we got so much feedback!
@mrs_pugetsound: Thanks. Oh they totally are. The Reasey Pizza is sinful. It’s a giant cookie covered in peanut butter and crushed up butterfinger. *drool*

@globalmargaret: Thanks! 🙂
Oh, and btw….I totally meant “Adieu” not whatever the heck “Adie” is. And I’m an hour too late to edit. Damn.

Those are awesome! I am also considering doing edible centerpieces with cheese/fruit/cracker platters. I am just worried that they will look bare after all the food is eaten… Did you run into this problem??? Any ideas on how to avoid this? Thanks!

Dude! I am totally using those same scrapbook pages to go under my centerpieces too! I’m spraypainting them a champagne, color, though. GREAT MINDS! 🙂

@MaryBWisc: I’ll be 100% and say…I have no idea if it became a problem! haha. I didn’t even get to eat any of it. 🙁 But it’s okay, I have all the recipes obviously. 😉 My opinion though is that it would only look bare if people ate it all but didn’t have anything else on the table. That’s part of why we added the pictures, the flowers, the scrapbook paper, yada yada. Also, once people were seated the tables became more cluttered anyways with their plates, napkins, silverware, programs, etc. 🙂
@StephieBee: I loved it! It was so cool how it was sort of metallic. We used little bits of it in several places – under our guestbook, for one.
@JenGirl: Thanks! People are still talking about how they loved it. My MOH’s brother brings it up pretty much every time we see him. haha.
