I’m officially a Mrs! Mr. Skittles & I married yesterday and it was the best day ever!! I’ve posted a lot on here and shared the ups and downs of planning on the bee so I couldn’t wait to share pics with you all!
I was pretty stress free throughout the day, except right before the ceremony (it snuck up on me and I was REALLY worried about walking down the ‘aisle’ in the grass in heels AND people kept trying to talk to me and I was feeling overwhelmed — I ended up stumbling but not flat out falling). There also were a few snags throughout the day (straps to my dress weren’t holding well, a little rain shower during pics and on chairs outside, drunk girl got on the mic briefly, etc.), but nothing that upset me too much or made it bad by any means.
Some highlights: The ceremony. I NEVER cry, but I could not stop during the ceremony. My husband (!) helped me through it by holding my hand, telling me I was beautiful, and handing me tissues (and tissues!). The moments after the ceremony. I had butterflies in my stomach and we went outside away from guests and just talked and held hands for a little bit. This was actually one of my favorite parts of the day. I loved the one on one time after such a pivotal moment in our lives to reflect together. We also got a huge standing ovation when we were announced in and that was a moment where I just felt so embraced and loved and it was wonderful. When we danced to All of Me (it wasn’t our first dance which was great too but I felt kind of gawked at so a little more uncomfortable) but during Allof Me I sang the song to him because he didn’t know the lyrics and it was so nice. So many more wonderful things…the food was AMAZING, the cupcakes were great, and the shoe game was a blast!
We did a lot of non-traditional elements and I’m so glad I stuck with what we wanted vs. what other people told us because it was so special and meaningful for us and exactly what we wanted!
So basically I loved it all! We did almost EVERYTHING DIY so I was very proud and loved seeing my vision as a reality. I’m going to make a separate post eventually (after our honeymoon!) with decors pics of our DIY projects, but for now some pics of the day!
