I was wondering if my shortness in breather is due to my hyperthyrodism or could it just be that im not as fit as I was?
Back Story Before and after having child number 2 i would often go for evening jogs (or jog + walkin). keep in mind that I was never the one to run (I thought I looked silly and was never the most fitest to run). Anyway, when I would go out, I would go a decent distance before stoping to catch my breath. I found out sometime in Feb that I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism.
Since which I havent been out for a run until last week. During this run I noticed that my breathing was HORRIBLE, and I shrugged it off as the thyroid issues. I wet out again and happened again.
My question is, could it be that Im unfit since havent been out since October, or could my lack of breathing be because of my already racing heart beat???

So when I opened this I was going to ask about your heart rate and when i finished I see that you said it is racing. I have graves and was always out of breath, heart racing and other hyperthyroid (and hypo-) issues. I started going to the gym a couple months before being diagnosed and I literally felt like crap after every workout. Now that Im on medication, its not so bad. My heart rate is down considerably and my breath is not as short as it used to be… I think it takes time to build back your lung capacity. Just continue to take your meds and do a little at a time and it will get better.

Thanks mrsaxachef: Thing is I havent been back to my doctor yet to discuss the ultrasound I had taken of my thyroid. Im due to go in the end of the month. I didnt want ot be put on meds as I am very weight conscious and if I have hyper that means being put on meds to make me gain weight, am I correct?
