Won’t work for everyone – but I found mine on craigslist! She’s a pro but working in a new market and she didn’t want  to spend a ton on advertising as she started the new area.

I just googled best wedding photographers in my area. And then used that and yelp etc for reviews.

I googled “City State Wedding Photography” and poured through websites. I also looked at albums on Facebook of friends who have gotten married and if I like it, I went to their photographers Facebook page and/or website

I found mine through a coworker who used her as their family photographer.

I found ours in a local wedding magazine for our county, but we ended up changing plans and decided on a Mexico elopement instead so we had to cancel with her (sad). Our mexican elopement photog I found totally by chance looking through Style Me Pretty’s destination weddings…

I think I found mine through offbeat bride at first, like, saw the name, liked the website enough, and added her to my huuuuuge list.  Then I narrowed it down, and FI liked her the best, so done!  BUT – our friend had told us to check out her boyfriend’s sister for a photographer prior to me doing any research.  I didn’t even know her name really, and after we had chosen our photographer, we googled the sister, and turns out she’s our photographer’s second shooter/partner!  Pretty pleased things worked out that well.  So Offbeat Bride + recommendations!

Weddingwire was great help  – and then the knot has an active outer banks board so they helped.

Also, going to a wedding expo was great.

@Buttercupmcgee:  We found ours at a bridal show!  They had a booth with examples of their work and discounted pricing if you booked with them throw the show that day.  It’s a husband and wife team so we’ll have two photogs on the big day, and it reassured me to have met them first in person.

After meeting with FIVE photographers and still not finding one FI and I agreed on, and emailing countless more, I found mine on Style Me Pretty (this wedding). It’s actually funny because our photographers don’t really have a normal SMP style. But anyway, I saw that they had a wedding featured, emailed them, and surprise surprise, they were the most inexpensive photographer we met with, AND we loved their personality.

Craigslist. She had just moved to our area and was offering a wedding package at a discount in order to build clientele. She’d previously been a family photographer and had only done a couple weddings. The craigslist ad had a link to her facebook page which had some nice pics on it so I arranged a meeting with her. She showed me tons of pics from the two weddings she had shot and her work was exactly what I was looking for so she’s the one we ended up booking with. We got talent at a great price – now that she’s been here a while her wedding package has gone up $600 from what we booked her for. We got so lucky to find her in her early days 🙂
