(Closed) Out of State Gift Registry

@eschmid2:  Not sure what the norm is with your social circles, but the vast majority of gifts were sent to our home before the wedding.  There were a few presents at the wedding, but we also were married in the same town we leave so people realized it wouldn’t be too difficult.  

I also have my gifts sent to the address the bride and groom have on the registry, especially if they are getting married out of town.  I think you will probably be okay on the wedding gifts!

The shower might be a little trickier.  I know I still had the gift shipped to the home one time and gave a card with a picture of the item at the shower.  Most people will want to bring gifts, and I think it would be a little off putting to specify that at the shower since part of the shower is watching the bride open gifts.  If it were me, I would rather do a shower where everyone chips in a recipe or something like that so you don’t have to worry about shipping, but I’m not really into showers to begin with.
