I haven't though too much about ours just yet but I'm figuring when I do it will probably be mostly food (candy, chips, snack items) and bottles of water, plus a nice letter to our guests and some info about the town our wedding's in (there's lots to do there). Since it's in NJ, I also want to include a few "New Jersey" type things, like maybe some saltwater taffy. You could do Bell's beer maybe for Michigan. Or whatever else is very "Michigan"- beyond football I am not too familiar with your state!
FMIL took care of them. Thank God, because I really didn't have time for it! :-)
She put in: Boston baked beans (the candy), Necco wafers, bottles of water with personalized wedding labels, granola bars, shout wipes, advil, maps and travel guides for Boston and our city.
I like bags that represent the city/ state.
So, for example, my wedding was in Austin, TX so we had pecan pralines, beef jerkey, bags of fritos, gum, and water. On the bag I wrote out a fact sheet explaining how each item was related to Texas :)
Where is your wedding at? Then we can give you ideas.
Our wedding is in Michigan in October. I have been between several ideas but recently have narrowed in on either Michigan theme or Orchard theme (since apple orchards are one of the staples here in Michigan in the fall!).
I'd love to have something unique in them, so we were tossing around the idea of personalized cards with Euchre (a very midwest game) instructions in the bag also.
Our hotel delivers them to the room, so I am planning to use a gable box so I wont have to worry about things falling out (also I love some of the decorating/designing ideas I have seen here with them).
We'll likely have 50-60 hotel rooms for which we'll need gifts. Any thoughts on how much you spent per gift? And what the staples to be included are? Other than info on the area and the weekend activities - which is pretty much a must!
We are having 2 bottles of water, 2 bags of M & M's in our wedding colors, home made zuchinni bread and home made banana bread (mini loaves), and a bag of trader joes chex mix cause it's awesome! I printed out directions to the country club, to our house and the mall closest to the hotel. I also attached a printed note thanking them for sharing our special day!
Why not do a "favorite things" theme and add items you and your FI love? like favorite chocolates, snacks, etc?

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I am starting to plan our out of towner gifts which will be waiting for our traveling (or just hotel staying) guests. I was looking for ideas from other Bee's on what they plan to or have put in theirs?
Maybe it will help other Bee's out there who are starting to plot/plan their gifts now!
THANKS! :)
