We live in San Diego and I just searched on the internet for items made here. We found a variety of items from soap to food items are buying in bulk and will make them into smaller packaging. (example we bought truffles and put two in a cute little bag with ribbon, instead of giving each room a dozen as they were packaged from the seller).

I love the idea of personalized post-its.

@amykate: I’m from San Diego too and was thinking of adding Carlsbad Gourmet’s Strawberry Hot Sauce. Also, are you referring to Jer’s Chocolates from Solana Beach?

As a guest, I like having things that are super useful during the wedding time, but that I have usually forgotten to bring.  Some ideas:  advil/asprin for the next morning, mints/gum, sunscreen (for summer)/chapstick (for winter).  Waters are key!  We are stocking up so all of our OOT bags will have 2 waters/guest.  I always go straight for that in a bag… I never want to drink strange tap water.

What about some single-serve packets of Advil?  Your guests may appreciate that the next day after having the party of their lives with you… 😉

I will give you this website, but with a warning… don’t lose your head (like certain Peanuts did…)

http://www.minimus.biz/

They have travel sized everything – medicine, Shout wipes, toiletries, etc. Then, if you are feeling crafty, here’s a cute way to package everything:

(Or, if you’re lazier like me you can stick it all in a little white box!)

Also, some cute and cheap (the mint tins are less than a dollar!) extras from Oriental Trading:

Also some cute candy from them:

Another idea that would be cute if you are feeling crafty are smores-in-a-bag. Make a pretty favor bags with two graham crackers, two marshmallows, and half a chocolate bar for them to pop in the microwave!

@Circus Peanut – Oh. My. Goodness. That website is amazing. I’m currently wasting tons of time and planning my OOT bags 🙂

I think the hot chocolate is a great idea!!  I’m from MN too and think that’s perfect.  A few things to munch on is always great.  Maybe you could tie a ribbon around your bag that matches the color scheme of your wedding?

I think fuzzy socks, mints and aspririn sounds great.  🙂  The hot chocolate is a great idea.  Maybe you could do some shortbread cookies or something to go with it.
