I went to a wedding where it did not go well :( I think they didn't secure it to the ground enough. But I'm sure it can be done right so that you don't have a disaster.
See that's what I'm afraid of. How is it suppose to be secured? Or should I just go without one?
I am having an outdoor ceremony and just skipping it. I don't want to deal with it if it does become a problem.
There's a diy posting where they have aisle tiles. You can place them down the aisle, so your aisle will be more than just flowers that was dropped by the flower girl. The person who posted it put significant dates & their monogram on them. I'm going to be doing that. So I have an aisle decoration and I wont be tripping on the runner. Here's the link.... http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/jennifers-aisle-tiles and they look like this.

You could just line your aisle with rose petals. Like this one.
Definitely don't do the aisle runner! I love the idea of rose petals though. I went to a wedding and the bride and her mother who walked her down the aisle, got stuck a bunch of times. It probably wasn't the romantic look she was hoping for. Everyone (including the bride) was laughing!
i agree with vfoster03. I was going to reference that DIY project as well. If my aise was grass, I'd use it, but I'm on a cement patio so I have to come up with something else.
good luck

We're having an outside ceremony in September (labor day weekend) and I want to use an aisle runner but I don't want my heels to stick thru it either. I'm worried with the runner being on grass that I'll get caught up in it (i'm a spaz) and just cause a scence. Anyone having or had an outside ceremony ceremony and use an aisle runner??
