outdoor ceremony and reception...how much to decorate?

    Hey!  we are getting married in the nc mountains in june...lots of green, rhododendrons blooming etc.  does anyone have any simple ways to spruce up the area with simple decor?ou

    Is there any enclosure/structure at all from which to hang something? Do you have a photo of the space?

    thats a picture looking at the reception pavillion...i have a few ideas for this already...its a great space

    Bunting, hanging lanterns, strings of lights, streamers... you can do a lot with that space!

    ETA - Just make sure you have an outlet for lights!

    @redheadem: I was just going to suggest that! I think you'd want lots of things that hang, so lights, lanterns, bunting, etc. are perfect! And you can usually find those for pretty cheap or make them very easily. :)

    i have lights at the pavillion! i was thinking about those strands of bulbs (look like regular light bulbs but are spaced about a foot apart)...i dont know how many i'll need to light that space though

    You can probably buy them used -check out craigslist

    you can check all craigslist sites at the same time by going to www.google.com

    then enter site:craigslist.org cafe lights

    @beccagracebrown:  do you have the dimensions of the pavilion?

    You will need the width of the pavilion plus about 8-10 feet for each string across the building. Multiply by the number of strings you want (take the length of the pavilion and divide it by how far apart you want the strings).

    Some brides hang the lights just above the dance floor.

    @julies1949:  dont have dimensions but pic is above...would you say one stand of cafe lights gives of more/less/similar light as a strand of equal length of twinkle lights?
