When I took my engagement photos, I had heels on. I was sinking in the ground and I don’t want that happening as I am walking down the isle. Also, I only want my shoe heels to be about 3 inches. What experiences did you ladies have that worked best? Thank you!

I wore sparkly flats for indoor pictures and the reception, and flat boots for outdoor pictures and the ceremony. I didn’t want to get pretty shoes dirty for no reason with a floor length dress, and I absolutely didn’t want to feel like I was sinking!
But if you’re getting your dress hemmed for heels, I recommend wedges, or, alternatively, I’ve heard good things about platform flipflops.

I’m kinda in the same place as you right now. I don’t think wedges would look good in my case since I’m planning on wearing something between a drop waist or a fit and flare gown. I went around some shoe stores and they have heel protectors for those of us that still wanna be in stilettos in the grass. I think the brand was called “starlettos”. I haven’t tried them out yet but I’m hoping to do a dry run with them on my heels in a few months.

My wedding is outside as well! I’m torn between wearing wedges or just pretty, sparkly flats. I’m leaning more towards flats though. I remember wearing heels to a wedding and slowly but surely sinking into the ground. It was terrible!

If your dress is long, and hardly anyone will see your feet, I also vote comfort/walkability over heels just for style. I would wear sparkly flats or very low wedges.
FWIW I have tried those plastic things you put on heels and they are terrible. They slip off and I have had them totally break too.
