Ok, so, this is embarassing, but I’m not sure who else to ask… I am starting to stress about the idea of an outdoor July wedding and a dress that weighs about 50 pounds…
This might be TMI, but I’m hoping I’m not the only one with this issue… I sweat… A LOT… Any time it’s over 70-75F I can feel it, and I really don’t want to have ugly stains on my dress, or have the huge wet patches showing for all to see… Any advice?
I wear the prescription stregnth anti-pirsperant every day, and it has little effect.

I’m honestly not sure! But I am having the same problem… I am having an outdoor beach wedding, and my dress is pretty heavy.. and I tend to sweat a lot, out of anxiety alone, and the heat! I’m a bit worried but not too sure what to do! One thing I have heard of doing is putting baby powder over the areas you typically sweat. I heard it helps to reduce the sweating, as well as kind of.. absorb it a bit?? I have a heat rash on my forehead constantly from excessive sweating (due to exercise, etc), and a doctor told a friend with a similar problem that baby powder works pretty well. I’ve been trying that!

Yeah, I use baby powder whenever I wear a skirt or anything for my legs, otherwise I’ll get a rash and I’ve even had it get so bad I’ve blistered.
My doc mentioned that getting a botox injection in your underarm can sometimes be a more lasting fix… I’m seriously consdiering it.

My wedding is Saturday and it’s supposed to be 85, which is HOT to me! I am worried about this also..outdoor ceremony. I can just imagine the hair sticking to my face already 🙁 eh. My aunt told me to look at it as rain on your wedding day..good luck. Sweat=Rain! hahaha.
I might try the baby powder deal now too..hmm

I asked my dermatologist about this- she recommended trying Certain Dry or Dry Idea.
I’m also planning on baby powdering everything. Sweat guards might be another option.

It was 90+ on the day of our outdoor wedding, so I feel you!! We didn’t even have AC for the reception – it was in a greenhouse.
I used Certain-Dry at night (for at least a week before) and the Secret strong stuff during the day. That worked for me. The rest of me was dripping but I didn’t stink! I did wear a split-slip I had at home under my dress so my legs didn’t stick together as bad. I snuck it off before my hubby unlaced me.
My face is super shiny in half my pictures. But whatever, I look happy!

I have soooo been worried about this! I sweat just thinking about sweating…LOL
I posted on this in another thread the other day on the dress board but didn’t get much response….I am glad I am not alone on this! I haven’t heard of baby powder so glad to hear there is at least something to try….might have to experiment with it to see how it works! If anyone hears of anything else please post here!

Is your reception outdoors too? If so, have you thought about changing out of your dress into a lighter reception dress that will breathe better? Also, if you are wearing a pettycoat/crinoline – I would ditch that thing as soon as possible, they add heat!
I am what I call a “sweating monster” and sweat from my face the most – this is why I knew it would be IMPOSSIBLE to have an outdoor wedding from March – September, which is why I choose October, no sweaty face! 🙂

I saw a thread about something similar a while ago, but i cant remeber the name of it, but the bees on there recommended this deo http://www.thecrystal.com/
but i cant say either way with it because i personally havent tried it, but the reviews on it from some of the bees were really good.
i havent heard of the baby power? might have to gove that a go – do you put deo on first and then baby power?
hopefully you will find something that works for you – most of the time i find myself sweating because im worried about sweating! AARRRGGGH!! haha

@hellsbells2949: HAHA. I am just like you. I sweat, because I worry about sweating. And I get anxious so easily.
The area I am most worried about is my face.. that’s where I’ve been putting the baby powder..especially on the forehead. I’m not sure if you’d put deodorant or baby powder on first?

@juliette.eliza: I used to ALWAYS have sweat stains until I started using Drysol. I was so embarrassed. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked. Until Drysol. Be warned that initially it burns/itches. So start using it a few weeks ahead of time. Start off using it every other day at night. Then after a month or so, you can cut down the usage. I’ve been using it about five years and I only have to use it about once a month. I swear by the stuff. I live in Texas and spent a lot of time embarrassed.

I used Secret Minerals in Eucalyptus Mint for my wedding. It was supposed to be a cool October weekend but turned out to be 85. I probably put on my deodorant 3 times the whole time cause I was paranoid and was ok.
Have someone hold on to a mister of iced water for you or keep it in a room you can get away to and give you a cool mist if needed.

i sweat mainly under the arms – thats why i asked about the deo. but thinking about it i do sweat around my hair line, and i have a sweaty nose too. and chin. oh my, i’m like a walking sweatoholics anonymous over here!
i tend to keep hair off my face by clipping it back all the time, and just carry extra face powder round with me.
hope all you guys find something that works for you on your days though – everyone is so different and reacts differently to products. i went to the doctors and they prescribed me that super super strength anti perspirant stuff – nope, may as well of not put anything there at all!

To the October brides… we picked May so it would be cooler. Ha! Record heat, we died. But… it was awesome. He kept a washcloth in his pocket to wipe his face off with right before every picture. 🙂 We lived – just drink lots of water!
