We're getting married at the Caltech Athenaeum - outside & v. nice. You need a member to sponsor you, but it's worth it.

The Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon is beautiful - no need to rent anything as it is a restaurant, and serves mostly organic food. Very romantic and rustic feeling. It's always a few degrees cooler since it's in the canyon and shaded by big oak trees.

Also can try the Adamson House in Malibu, it's a beautiful historic house with wide green lawns right along the beach (so you get both beach and garden together).

There's La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes. Also I'm not sure the name, but there's a beautiful site that my friend got married at. It's right next to the old Marineland of the Pacific site in Rancho Palos Verdes.

If you are on a budget you can always have your reception at the Arboretum in Arcadia or Descanso Garden in La Canada.

If you are looking for a unique outdoor garden reception, you could look at The Hidden Chateau and Gardens in Hidden Hills (right next to Woodland Hills).  I have planned a wedding out there and it is beautiful, classy and definitely under the stars.  They have a separate dance floor area that is under the night sky as well.  Hope this information helps.

We're having our ceremony outdoors and the reception indoors at the Calamigos Ranch in the Malibu mountains.  They have several different ceremony/reception sites to accommodate different party sizes.

I've heard great things about Chateau Bradbury in Monrovia, Descanso Gardens in La Canada, and the Lindley Scott-House in Azusa. Another great website to look at is herecomestheguide.com.

i'm sure you guys know this already - but LA is huge and spread out - do not trust any mapping guide taht says "20 minutes" from point A to point B!!!

dont wanna get stuck in the 405 or the 10 on Saturday!!

guess it also depends where you guys are staying or live and commute to the ceremony and then the reception

HAPPY PLANNING!!!
