@Owl_Doctor we’re having our ceremony and reception at the Allerton Mansion in Monticello.  I’m sure you’re familiar with it because you’re a U of I grad!  We’re going an outdoor ceremony and having the reception in the mansion.

Not sure if you already found a venue but thought I would pass along the tip if you haven’t yet!

I’m having mine at Starved Rock this May (SO CLOSE!)… I’ll post pictures after if you want to see them! Weddings are at 5pm and you have up until 11am the day of the wedding to decide if you want your ceremony indoors or outdoors. If it’s indoors, it’s in front of their beautiful big fireplace that you can decorate however you want! You can’t go wrong!

It’s been such an easy planning process, all the people there are great, and it’s just stunningly beautiful. The ONLY complaint I have is that if a guest wants to stay at Starved Rock Lodge, it has to be a 2 night stay. Kind of a PITA but there are other hotels around if they want to only stay the one night.

If you decide to go with Starved Rock, shoot me a message. I’ll let you know what vendors I used and if I would recommend them (after the wedding happens, of course!)

@Owl_Doctor that sounds beautiful!   How fun to do a ceremony in an apple orchard.  I love that idea!
