We put a hold on a tent and we were able to cancel it a week before it not needed.  I know sometimes you can’t be sure on the weather that far out but it’s better than nothing I guess.

The place we booked came with an automatic back-up since we were doing our reception immediately following at the venue site. I would try to find some place that has a similar policy.

It depends on your venue. We are getting married outdoors at a resort, so if it rains, we will just have the ceremony inside. I think we just have to give 30 minutes notice, and they will set up the chairs and everything for a $50 charge.
