Wedges! Boots! Flats! I am wearing cowboy boots for our outdoor ceremony and am wicked excited.
I agree with MoSnow...I'm wearing flats, but our wedding in indoors.
I had the same dilema and ended up wearing flat Tommy Bahama sandals. I would have loved to wear super cute heels, but it was not worth it to sink in the ground all day! I was also worried about wearing wedges, too though...I tend to roll my ankles in them for some reason. I could see myself lugging this great big dress through the grass, hitting a lump in the ground and toppling over.
I'm going with flats for my outdoor wedding but cowboy boots are interesting. lol. If you're doing a spring wedding then rainboots might be a cute idea.
I refuse to succumb to the fear of my heels digging into the grass! And especially because I'm 5'5 and the FI is 6'3 I definitely want to wear heels. And Miss Lab's post comes to the rescue! Heel Stoppers!
I definitely plan to test these out in our backyard before the wedding!
I too am having an outdoor ceremony. I'd love to wear my cowboy boots but my dress is tea length so I'm worried that it'll look funny. My boots and dress will probably hit at about the same place. I'm going to take my boots to my dress fitting and I'm looking for a pair of shoes. I'd love to wear heels but not sure about the sinking. I haven't been able to find wedges that are appropriate and I really don't want to wear flats, but I will if thats my last resort. I love flip flops but not on my wedding day.
I'm going to wear flats for the ceremony, and heels for dancing.
miss rye bread- you can dance in heels?!
I'm going with flats, but I haven't found them yet. Still looking!
Wedges if you want heels.
Flat sandals if you want something flat!
I can ONLY dance in heels! haha.
Thanks so much for your help! I am going to search for some great flats :) I wish I would have thought of those 'heel stoppers'! A great invention, but knowing me, they would fail just as I took my first step out of the car..
Has anyone found some interesting flats? I'm a little out of the ordinary and would love shoes to match... fun colors etc.
@MissCamera - I can't dance in flats! It's way too hard! We're going to do salsa for our first dance, so I'm going to have to be on the balls of my feet anyways.
If you want to save some time, this site pulled suggested shoes from zappos and other bridal shoe stores so you don't have to go there and search. You can just click over.

There are some very cute, fancy wedges out there now...
These are my fave from an outdoor lakeside wedding
Wedges or flats...or look into getting sole mates for your heels!
I once saw plastic things that brides put on their heels if they were having a wedding in the grass. http://www.thesolemates.com/ I just googled it and found this link! Tell me what you think about these.
Ok, this is not meant to insult anybody who might like those, but they are sooo ugly! Why would people put those on their beautiful shoes?
LOL! I dont wear high heels so I dont know! Im 6 ft...so no heels here! Can you notice them that bad? I just thought if she really wanted heels and would be on the grass...and i dont think anyone would see them under the gown? And she could just wear them on the grass and take them off after.
My wedding ceremony is on the grass too and I have the same fear of sinking. I'm short and I love heels though, so I'm gonna wear 'em anyway and hope for the best. I put on heels and did a test run around my ceremony site and it seemed to be okay... the lawn/grass there is pretty firm.
I actually have those SoleMates that D.Marie posted, and I was thinking the same thing... they'd help me get down the aisle without sinking and without being too noticeable since they'll be under my dress. I ordered them online, but they don't even really fit onto the heel of my shoe. So I'm not using them.
I am in the same boat, outdoor ceremony - sinking bride!
As I am quite short, 5', 5'1 when you catch me on a good day (tee hee) and need the height with my dress since I am getting my dress hemmed with wearing my heels I figured I needed to find some big sandels - you know those big spoungy type ones?
if you wanted to go two shoes that might be a good option, if you are unable to you may have to consider something like those SoleMates that D.Marie posted (which are weird looking...)
I am loving the idea of wearing wedges, the sole mates also sound like a great idea. So, I think I am going to buy both (hopefully finding 2 that are the same height!) bring them to the rehearsal and see which works best with the grass conditions.
I am loving these wedges
and the slingbacks

Will white be too plain?

After finding the perfect dress, the first fitting will be coming up soon and I need to find shoes. My dilemma: our ceremony is outdoors and on grass; I am worried heels will be sink into the ground while walking down the aisle...
Any suggestions??
