The bottom of the dress will get dirty, no matter where you get married. I say pick a dress you love and are comfortable wearing. I think this dress would be great for an outdoor wedding, the bling around the waist and on the train will really sparkle in the sun. :)
The dress is beautiful and I think it would look gorgeous at your outdoor wedding. Realistically, as mousegirl stated, any floor length gown is bound to get dirty, so if you love the dress, it'll work!
Mousegirl is right, your hem and train will get dirty no matter what. Wear what you want!
Haha, I don't think you can stand out as a sore thumb at your own wedding. I agree with the PPs. You can wear whatever makes you feel beautiful! I might not wear it at a beach wedding (it would probably be hot), but I think it's just fine for an outdoor wedding.
It would be perfect I very beautiful too, you just have to be willing to get it dirty is all.
Thanks for all the kind words ladies, your making me feel so much better! I have no problem getting the dress dirty, you only wear it once right! The wedding would be up in the Rocky mountains so it's pretty chilly no matter what time of year ( I never thought of how hot it would be though) I just would hate to be one of those brides that at the wedding everyone is trying to figure out why on earth I chose that dress if it didn't fit the environment well. For example, I once saw a girl who physically had to be pushed through the gate into her backyard wedding (bless her heart, I LOOOVED the dress, but even she said she regretted so much tulle!) Everyone was giggling and teasing her for the rest of the night about why she picked such a big dress for her backyard (she handled it very well, and I did love the dress!)
I don't think the fabric would be as important, but I'd be worried about trashing the dress before any formal pictures or the cermony. You will notice it in the pictures.
Maybe get that type of fabric without such a long train?
But in the end- your wedding your choice. :) Just my thoughts.
It's gorgeous! I think it would be perfect for an outdoor wedding!
I think it is a lovely dress and looks great on you! Also, the accessories that you wear with it will make a big difference!
That is beautiful and will look beautiful outside, probably even more so because nature is such a contrast to a beautiful dress... you will stand out in a very good way. Trust me... don't change the dress.

Ok bee's I need some help. My fiance and I are thinking about having an outdoor wedding in a beautiful meadow with a beautiful river running around it (up in the mountains). Our reception would be in a gorgeous dance hall with all glass sides to see the beautiful mountains at night. I NEVER wanted to be an outdoor wedding bride (mostly due to the erratic weather in Colorado). My new dilemma is most of the dresses I'm attracted to are satin, a-line/ballgown shape simple elegant with a touch of beading. This is an Oleg Cassini I am very drawn to, for example. I need your advice, is this too 'fancy' for my mountain wedding (as I fear it is)?

The dress does have a train but photo #2 shows it bustled.
