Hey everyone! My fiance and I just got engaged this past Saturday (yay!) and we’re looking at March for the wedding. We’ll be getting married in either Springfield (IL) or Macomb. I really want to have a small-ish, outdoor wedding. I’ve lived in OK for the past 3 years, so I can’t really remember what the weather is like in IL in March. If anyone has any insight or suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Awesome, I’m getting married in Springfield in March as well – indoors though!!
An outdoor wedding in Springfield is tough anytime of year since the weather is so unpredictable. Typically, March is on the cool side & windy – temps in the 50s for the high & 30s for the low. Though this year was atypical for sure as we had 70-85 degree temps in March & the flowers all bloomed out at once. It was a gorgeous spring even if it came a month-and-a-half early, lol!

I live in St. Louis which is pretty close to Southrn Illinois and the weather in March is vry unpredicatble. I considered an outdoor wedding because I am getting married in March and all of my vendors pretty much reninded me of how last year there was snow on the ground one week in March and two weeks later there was rain for 3 days straight, and a few days later people were hot and complaining of th humiity while wearing shorts. I was like 3 seasons in a 2 week period..
So I think that an outside wedding is great, just mak sure you check the weathr prediction closer to booking your venues

Thank you, ladies! We decided to move it indoors. As much as I would love to have an outdoor wedding, I realized I would love to not have to stress about it until the day of the wedding even more, lol 🙂
