Your date is early in October so likely to be a bit warmer.
Are you thinking of holding the reception outside or just the ceremony?
I'm thinking of having an outdoor cocktail hour on October 12 in NY. I worry too about the weather but it's only for a short period of time as your ceremony will be.
You could always have some shawls or blankets for your guests if the weather got cold. But October is usually a pleasant month. Just think about some of the Halloween costumes you've worn in the past years. I'm sure there are a few times you didn't need a coat...and that's at the end of the month.
That is very true about halloween. that is why i thought it would be ok for the ceremony to be outside because it isnt a long time. The reception is inside. the venue has a back up plan if needed. we just have to inform them within 24 hours and they will move it inside. I also think that everyone who is coming will know what to expect for the wedding. Thanks for your help!
@noel1kr: I would not worry about it, early October is not usually an issue and Caberfae - beautiful idea! Just make sure you are coordinated with sunset times!
