@Sunnyday278: We are getting married at Riverdale Manor in Lancaster. Check it out! Our ceremony is at 5, cocktail hour from 5:30 - 6:30, and reception from 6:30 - 10:30. They have a beautiful outside area right on the Conestoga river as well as a pavilion in case of rain (although the pavilion is actually our first choice). Our cocktail hour is being held on the patio if weather allows. While the actual reception is not outside, the ballroom is light and airy and has several exits to the patio/pavilion area.
I looked around Harrisburg, etc. at first since we are about 40 minutes west of you, and that would definitely be closer to us than Lancaster, but I couldn't find anything that even remotely compared to how nice Riverdale is.

Hello all you resourceful ladies :) Ok. I am beginning the research on wedding venues. What I really want is a sunset ceremony (i think around 6:30 in late aug/early sept) and then a reception that goes on until 11 or 12 at night. I also want a venue where I can have my ceremony and reception at the same place. Outside!!!! I am on a tighter budget. I have a few venues in mind to look at. My dilemma is that every single venue I've researched so far has a "curfew" at 10 pm.
I was hoping some of you lovely bees may know of some nice, affordable, outdoor venues that can allow for some partying after the 10 pm we-turn-into-pumpkins-hour. I know that this may not be possible.... noise ordinances, etc. And to be honest, if I have to move my ceremony up an hour, OH WELL. It will not be the end of the world! It will be close enough to sunset, haha. (and frankly, if any bees have had a late aug/early sept wedding and remember what lighting was like at 5/5:30, I would love to know! I really can't remember, despite living through 23 years of them.... guess i should pay better attention!)
But before I give up (so to speak) I'm asking the bee! Any suggestions? I am located in Carlisle, so Mechanicsburg, Gettysburg, Harrisburg, etc are all great locations.
