@PinkPanda:  I priced out Joseph Ambler Inn and they wanted I believe a $14,000 minimum for a Saturday night.  Colonial Dames will be more in your price range but the rain plan is not good (that’s why I didn’t pick them) for that many people plus they can barely fit 120 in the upstairs room let alone 150.  Have you looked at the German Society of Philadelphia?  There is also Normandy Farms in Blue Bell.  I know they are pretty flexible on price and I think they have a decent indoor space to get married.

Good Luck!!

Hi PinkPanda (great name- love pandas!)  You should look into the Aldie Mansion.  Im getting married there in (gasP) less than 5 months.  It is in Doylestown, which isnt too far from Philadelphia.  I had the same feeling about the Old Mill.  For such a beautiful location, the reception hall was too dark – and that carpet!  Aldie has all levels of pricing: you can definitely stay within budget.  and the venue is spectacular: a historic home with beautiful grounds for an outdoor ceremony.  http://partyspace.com/bucks-county-weddings/historic-venues/aldie-mansion  Good luck!

@PinkPanda:  I actually live in the German Society area (I guess it’s technically NoLibs), and it’s not that bad. LOL. The other side of Spring Garden is admittedly nicer, but the inside looks BEAUTIFUL. If you’re worried about photo ops, there Franklin Square a short ride away as well as Fairmount. German Society also has a tiny courtyard but can probably be decorated for official photos.

There are a couple options for ceremony depending on the weather.  They have a brick courtyard in the front of the building if the yard is too wet or muddy.  There are several rooms inside: the great hall can be used for the ceremony depending on how guests attend.  I think there is room for 70 seats, and then a balcony above that can hold people as well.  Its a beautiful dark wood room with beautiful ornate windows basically from floor to ceiling. We have too many guests to fit in there at 150, so Im banking on good weather.  fingers crossed!

@PinkPanda:  It might be worth a look, you know? I was coming back from laundry and totally snooped through the windows. What a beautiful place! I would keep it on my list if our wedding weren’t already so weird – Asian/Italian wedding…at the GERMAN SOCIETY OF PHILADELPHIA? LOL.

I wouldn’t be able to tell you about the parking. However, I do remember a good general lot on 8th (?) street across from Traffic Court that’s like $5/day/per car. If I were you, I’d include a cute little $5 parking pass as a small favor. Maybe I’m weird, haha. WAIT! There is a lot attached! I don’t know how much it costs there. πŸ™ BTW, just checked. Only holds 35-40 cars. What in the small parking lot?

I’ve never actually sat down to eat there! I hear so many good things about the place, but the only reason I go that far over is to do laundry. Womp womp.

My mind is going a million miles a minute…I swear I love helping out. (BTW, HI wedding date twin!!)

What about Beat Street Station? I don’t know if it’s a little too small, but it’s pretty offbeat and coloful. It’s at the old train station in Manayunk, I believe.

Tyler Arboretum? It might be pushing the 45 minute drive bit, but I hear it’s gorgeous.

The Deck at Harbor Pointe? They have a reasonable package and it’s right outside of Philadelphia.

I’m just trying to go by what I’m going for – we have the same requirements, but my wedding is half as big as yours. I hope I helped. :]

@PinkPanda:  Giiiiiirl, I am literally on the site right now and I was like WAIT, she just posted the same link!

I think it would be such a lovely place to get married. That library is oh my god. The rental is $1400 and the ballroom is $2000+, not including the catering. I’m guessing now they’ll let you bring your own in – big savings!
