    Hey Bees,

I'm trying to figure out my invites today, and so I'm facing a new dilemna. This can either be solved practically or with creative etiquette.

Basically, I am making my own invites, but using a pre-created pocketfold with matching A7 envelopes. I cannot figure out what kind of outer envelope to use. A8s seem way too long (they are perfect in heigh, but like half an inch longer than an A7). Is there a resource out there I am missing?

I am not totally fixated on having outers and inners, so the approach is to put names on the RSVP cards...right? So, if I do that, how do you allow people to tell you who is or isn't coming? Say I invite family with three kids, what is the best way for them to let you know they are leaving the baby at home?

I guess both questions need answering either way. Any help appreciated!

i didn't use inner envelopes and my rsvps were postcards.  so to let guests know who was invited (if it wasn't clear on the outer addressed envelope), I wrote the names on the back of the pocketfold actually.  It's kind of like an envelope in itself, so I figured it would be ok.

I didn't have inner envelopes and I didn't put peoples name's on the RSVP cards, I addressed the envelope to everyone who was invited, including my Aunt and Uncle, their 4 kids and two plus ones for the older kids.  People throw all the envelopes away anyway, so to me it's kind of a waste of money to have inner and outer envelopes.  Here's what the address looked like:

    Mr. & Mrs. James Smith

Kevin & guest, Dave & guest

    Jane & Sally

    333 Noname Rd

    Anytown, USA 11111

As far as people letting you know who's coming, don't worry, they will let you know.  They will probably write it right on the RSVP card.  That's what my family did.  My cousin said they had 4 people coming, including the baby, so I knew while I needed a chair of baby, I didn't need a meal for baby.

BTW, for future reference I found part of the answer to my question: A7.5 envelopes.

This website has an AWESOME selection of outer envelopes, in many styles and colors and good prices!
