I’m looking for some advice regarding outerwear. I am getting married in February and am wearing a white dress. I’m looking for a coat to wear for pictures and for travel in between events. I really like the look of a peacoat, but I’m finding all ivory or winter white coats. Would these look okay with my white dress? Ideas? Pictures? Thanks!

I like the look of vintage fur or vintage/modern faux fur jackets/stoles.
The contrast of the dark color with the dress goes well with the groom’s tux also.
Faux Persian lamb is also cute

I had a faux fur shrug for our ceremony then changed into a cute plaid coat for the ski hill. I prefer a contrasting color…as you can see my jackets were black. Here are a few pics just for you to see anyway as I found it hard to find pictures when I was trying to decide. 🙂

I think white would be fine, but I think if you could find a plaid using your wedding colors, that would be fantastic. (I like the pic above of the bride with the plaid coat on the ski lift.)

I’m wearing this bridal coat from Eden Bridal:
Sorry I don’t have a pic of it with me and my dress, but I just got the coat in and my dress is getting alterations done right now! I think it will look fine, I wanted to be all white and bridal – but I think colors would look fine too, it’s just about what you want. This dress is available in colors, but you’d probably get a better deal shopping at a department store, plus you’ll re-wear that coat probably, I will probably not re-wear this coat!

I had 3 different outerwear elements – a lace overlay, a white faux fur cape and a black faux fur jacket – a jacket ith a full sleave is def the warmest. The others didn’t do much…

Love all of the contrasting coats in here! You all look so chic. OP, you tend to blend less with a contrasting color, but a light color can also give a lovely “Snow Queen” image (either style is gorgeous):
And I love the look of a peacoat (no matter the color) with a wedding dress. Plus, it’ll actually keep you warm during your outdoor photos:

@Soon_to_be_wed: my mom actually found it at a second hand store but I think it originally came from walmart… sorry that I can’t be more helpful
