Unless they are really thick leggings (like skinny stech jean leggins), that shirt is not long enough to wear leggings as pants. My rule is always if your butt isnt covered by the shirt, real pants are required.

@Hippos:  My rule is the same as above. Do they have Thyme maternity where you are? They have 50% off 1 item coupons right now.

ETA: And where did you find that shirt? I totally want it!

I echo PP do not wear leggings with this top. Find some nice pants or a skirt.

@Hippos:  it’s adorable! I wear leggings or jeggings without my butt being covered- I think it looks fine and never thought twice about it!

If you wear leggings, pair it with boots. If not, it’s obvious they are leggings and can look strange. If no boots, go with straight leg pants.

@little_d:  On many women, it  doesn’t look so fine from the rear. On some, it simply looks like they forgot their pants. On others, it looks worse.

@julies1949:  I still think they look fine on me- I like the thick cable knit variety. I didn’t know others were so opposed.

@little_d:

in your defense, I just had the privilege of visiting Van and my friend who lives there pointed out that everyone there wears leggings as pants! And I saw from observation it was true!

The other parts of Canada I have lived in, not so much…

@EMandEM:  I didn’t think I was the only one! To clarify, they are the thick, opaque type- not transparent panty hose. I’m not bearing my undies or anything!

@EMandEM:  I live in Vancouver and I can guarantee you that not everyone wears leggings as pants. Most of us know the difference.

Many women wear lululemon yoga wear everywhere and that’s bad enough.
