My FI and I are having our engagement photos taken at the end of february. I am at a total loss of what to wear. Also, do I need to bring a second outfit? I am so clueless 🙂
Additional info: It will be around 3 degrees C or 38 F where we are taking the photos.
Also, my coat looks like this http://sam-nyc.com/store/media/catalog/product/cache/4/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/m/p/mpd_pea-coat_1.jpg

Will you only be outside, or do you also have an indoor location as well?

@mmle: I am thinking outside for about 75% of the photos

I did have two outfits because I wanted to have a variety of pictures. FI and I both wore jeans in our two outfits. In the first outfit I had a dressier top, and in the second outfit I had a plain t-shirt with a statement necklace – different jeans in both of my outfits. FI just changed dress shirts.
I LOVE your coat! I think what you wear depends on what kind of couple you are. FI and I are very laid back, unfrilly people. I don’t usually dress up so we wanted our personalities reflected in our pictures. I would think about what you normally wear and go from there. I normally wear jeans and a t-shirt, so I classed up my first outfit and was more myself for the second outfit.

@javamonkey: that coat is gorgeous! I love the color fur at the hood – why not pick up that color in a pair of boots for similar contrasting with whatever bottoms you’ll be wearing?I think a nice caramel colored or toffee colored boot with a skinny jean would look nice – either indigo, black or even a soft grey jean would contrast nicely with a caramel boot.

Our engagement photos were pushed back due to weather so we ended up taking them outside on a pretty cold day in November (rather than during no-jacket weather in October). I contemplated taking off my coat during the shoot to have more than one look, but I was just too cold. Even though I ended up wearing it the whole time, I think the photos turned out great.
I agree with other people – wear some cute shoes/gloves/etc. It wasn’t quite cold enough for a scarf when we took our photos, but I loved that my shoes added to the ensemble.

@flying_hearts: I’m still angry ked-like shoes came back into style. I used to get called “soccer mom shoes” but then, they cost a dollar! Then trends happened and f’d up my annual tradition.
that said, yall look so adoralble! I love your location (and youre love obvi!) and I’ve never seen a guy look so manly in keds! It really works and shows your individuality!

@subtlebee: Haha – I feel the same way about Converse. After Nike bought them, the prices sky-rocketed and it seemed like everyone had a pair. The one plus is that they started producing some fun new styles, and I now own a pretty kick-ass pair of plaid ones (in addition to the classic black I had always previously bought) 🙂
