So basically I’ve been miserable the past 2 months…
im 23 years old.
ive never had great female health. My periods have never been normal, I had pre cancerous cells on my cervix when I was 16 I was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 19 along with cysts on my ovaries that don’t respond to birth control so they just keep forming and bursting ..have been doing this for 5 years now.
about 2 months ago I started getting night sweats…these night sweats have turned into full blown ember flashes
as we speak I’m sitting topless in my apartment that’s 67 degrees sweating….-_-
im concerned I might be experiencing early menopause or POI Or POF
all of this is incredibly scary seeing as how i want to start a family in 3 years…has anyone gone thought this? Can you describe to me what your experience was like? I have a doctors apt the 30th but these ember flashes are KILLING me in the mean time

I’m so very sorry you are going through this nightmare. I experienced the same thing but later in life. I didn’t develop endo until after I had my daughter and then dealt with excrutiating ovarian cysts, horrible periods, etc. like you. Eventually had a hysterectomy last year and they left my ovaries. But I ended up having them removed over the past year in 2 separate surgeries because of ovarian cysts. Now dealing with trying to kill all the endo which is ungodly painful while experiencing menopause (hot flashes, nightsweats, etc.) because my doc took me off estrogen to kill the endo. It sucks!!!
Anyway, I don’t know that I have anything helpful to add but I definitely feel for you. 🙁

@mkendrick: ugh I’m miserable and I feel like doctors never take you seriously they want to brush everything off….ESP gynos until you’re in so much pain you’re demanding tests. So discouraging 🙁

Can you ask your obgyn to run an FSH test? I have POF but I have never experienced the hot flashes. My first and only symptom was ovarian cysts (first clue that I wasn’t ovulating right). It could be a simple hormone imbalance causing all of this though.
If you are able to have the test, make sure to ask for the specific fsh number and then do some checking yourself. My doctor initially told me mine was normal and it was soooo abnormal.

I have pcos so I can comiserate on the ovarian cysts bursting – it’s excrutiating pain. The birth control I take helps – but not all the time. Sometimes sex is SUPER painful.
In addition- my hormones are super out of whack – like really all over the place. I need to see an endo for it but I dont have insurance until Sept (thank goodness it’s almost here!).
I hope you get your answers soon. I’m 26 – I plan on starting a family in a couple of years- I really need to get myself sorted out before trying though. But I’m almost positive that after I’m done having kids, I will have my ovaries and uterus removed.

ive had ovarian cysts the size of golf balls. i was given oxycodone for the pain. in addition, i am on bc pills and have missed my period yet again for the past 2 months. at age 23, i had pre cancerous cells removed. my doctor told me i was literally a hop skip and jump away from cancer. so far, no reoccurence but again with the abnormal paps. and yup hot flashes that have since stopped. i was also getting strange lightheadedness. doctors pretty much told me im fine and not to worry…but i have a feeling this will creep up again sometime in the future.

I’ve had occasional hot flashes and I’m 24. I have PCOS and weird pelvic pains. When they did the ultrasound, they saw the string of pearls. I definitely get pretty uncomfortable pains when I think I’m ovulating/near my period, it’s hard to tell b/c I don’t track my cycles much anymore (just a reminder that I’m abnormal).
