I went with a more form fitting dress, which is very differnt than what my younger self imagined wearing.  When I tried on a ballgown I looked too young and like a barbi cake for girls.  It just swallowed me up.  Ultimately, I settled on mermaid/trumpet styles. Here is my dress.

I was determined to buy a tea length dress, but something fancy and bridal. No shops had what I was looking for so I went online and got my dress from Whirling Turban. It was so perfect, and a complete hit with everyone 🙂

Just so you know, many of us over 40 have not had kids…

I think (like younger brides) we make decisions based upon our bodies, rather than chronological age. I wore a strapless ballgown (ivory).

abeautifulbride:  If you check these pages, I don’t think they will necessarily reflect that there is a separate market regarding style.  There seems to be more variety of colors.  Anyway, here is mine Alfred Angelo 404 and it has been discontinued.

abeautifulbride:  Are you doing some free marketing on here for a shop? Not sure what the angle is.  But if you are in a metropolitan area, you should get out more.
