Wow, no contracts... that basically doesn't give you ANY rights at all. I'd stay away from there no matter what. So, so much can go wrong with that!
Do you have a referral from a member? That is an private club and they do not let people book weddings there without a member recommendation... maybe that is what they are talking about?
I looked all over the Philly area (visited a TON of sites) and I never talked to one that didn't have a contract! That sounds kind of crazy - I probably wouldn't do it.
There are some really nice country clubs around that area though. Have you looked at others? I looked at some (that all had contracts) and I think my favorite was Rivercrest in Pheonixville (which isn't too far from this one). The coordinator lady was super nice too.

Hi- I booked Overbrook gofl club for my wedding. They have been very accomidating. I have not been concerned about a contract or lack of.
dkimchee - do not book this wedding without a contract. I am a planner and this is completely unheard of for ANY vendor. Especially, the venue.
And as for the bee named made who said she booked this club - she just signed up today for a wedding bee account and this is the only post she's done... I wouldn't trust that poster.

Hi- This is the only post I have made because it was the only post regrarding my venue. Anyway, I'm not sure what a contract is supposed to include but Overbrook is a reputable venue and I do not think they would try to pull anything.

Hi,
Has anyone looked into the Overbrook Country Club for their wedding? I absolutely love the venue but the wedding coordinator told me that they do not do contracts. Is that for real? If you've had your wedding there, can you tell me what your experience has been?
Please respond if you know any info. I really love this venue but I am weary of going forward with any place wsho won't sign a contract.
