Hi bees, I’ve been lurking for a while and have slowly started to become an active member. I’ve recently had some thoughts swirling around and thought who better to ask than you?
Briefly, here’s my dilemma- A few months ago I tried out for something that really excited me (a small dance company that I’ve been following). It came up a bit last minute, and I went after it in a “why not, may as well go for it” mindset. Of course, I ended up getting attached to the possibility. I got a response that I was being considered, and then heard nothing else. I was starting to let go of any hope until I saw a someone post on FB about going to rehearsals. Even though I had prepared myself for knowing it didn’t work out, that hit me.
I know I should be grateful to at least have been considered, and may end up thankful to not have an extra commitment in my life, but I’m having a difficult time not dwelling in negative thoughts.
In what ways have you moved on and overcome disappointment in your life?
